COSAS MBUSO KUBHEKA REGION PAYS TRIBUTE TO CDE DR. NNG MAHLABA ON THE DAY OF HIS FINAL FAREWELL
The Congress of South African Students (COSAS) in the Mbuso Kubheka Region joins the Mahlaba family, the African National Congress, the broader democratic movement, and the people of South Africa in mourning the passing of Comrade Dr. Nkuleko Nuthuvelo Mahlaba, whose funeral is being held today.
Today, we do not merely bury a leader; we bid farewell to a mentor, a servant of the people, and a champion of education who believed that no learner should be left behind because of poverty.
For many years, Cde Dr. Mahlaba stood side by side with COSAS during our Back-to-School Campaigns, ensuring that learners from disadvantaged communities received school shoes, school jerseys, sports kits, and other essential learning resources. His generosity was never about recognition—it was about restoring dignity, inspiring hope, and ensuring that every child had an equal opportunity to succeed.
As young people, we have lost a leader who always opened his doors to student struggles and understood that investing in education was investing in the future of our country. His unwavering commitment to the development of young people will remain one of the greatest legacies he leaves behind.
COSAS Mbuso Kubheka Region extends its heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife, children, family, comrades, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by his compassion and leadership.
As we gather to lay him to rest today, we commit ourselves to honouring his memory not only through words but through continued service to learners and our communities. His vision of empowering young people through education and community development will continue to guide our work.
May his revolutionary spirit continue to inspire generations to come.
Hamba kahle, Cde Dr. NNG Mahlaba.
Lala ngoxolo,
Your contribution to the youth and the people of Mbuso Kubheka will never be forgotten.
