How Daddeo Began...

Let me tell you a bit more about the drive behind what inspired me to found Daddeo.

On the 15 March 2017, I became the proud dad to Annéne Mae, she was born at 08:55 in the morning and weighed in at 2.94kg. This was one of the happiest days in my life. For a very long time I lived my life with the thought that I was not able to have children, until my little miracle arrived in this world.

I would love to tell you that after Annéne was born it has been sunshine and roses, but unfortunately life happened and myself and Annéne’ s mom parted ways. The relationship was toxic at this point and would not have been a beautiful example of what love is to Annéne.

After the split from Annéne’ s mom is where this story takes a turn for the worst. It has been a continuous battle to spend time with my little princess, and to be able to be included in her life. At every turn I am excluded from her life with no reason, except for when something is needed. I am not afforded any extra time with Annéne other than what has been agreed to in a court order, which I was bullied in to, not knowing and understanding my rights as Annéne’ s biological dad at this time.

I have now become wiser and have sought proper legal counsel and is in the process of fighting for full custody of my little princess. This is proving to be no easy task. Although the laws in South Africa have been updated to ensure that both parents have equal rights to and for their children, the general acceptance is that the mom is always the better parent, and in most cases are granted custody, although the dad might be the parent.

This is why I founded Daddeo. To ensure that all dads know about their parental rights, and ultimately be in a position where we can help dads that really want better for their children reach a point where they are able to care for and fight for their little ones.

We will be working together with outreach teams in communities throughout South Africa identifying and assessing various dads and their needs to determine the best solution that Daddeo can offer these families.

At the end of the day it is all about our little princesses and princes and ensuring that they have the best chances in life, and the most love they can ever have in this world.
