It’s that time of year we’ve all been waiting for: waterblommetjie season at Rhebokskloof.

On 5 September, join Rhebokskloof winemaker Rolanie Lotz for a seasonal pairing that brings one of the Cape’s most loved ingredients to the table in a fresh and thoughtful way.

Guests will enjoy five waterblommetjie-inspired tapas, each paired with a Rhebokskloof wine, from Chenin Blanc with tandoori kingklip to Shiraz with a waterblommetjie and orange praline chocolate tart.

This week Thursday, 3 September, the Paarl Wine Route launches the first edition of At The Winemakers Table with The Wine Hive.

It’s a long-table evening with 3 young local winemakers, 9 award-winning wines, Italian food and only 30 seats in the room.

Here’s why you should be one of them:

✨ It’s not your average winemakers dinner - there will be 3 young Paarl winemakers at the table
This is your chance to hear directly from the next generation of local winemakers while they pour and talk you through their wines.

✨ The menu is built around Italian food
The Wine Hive will be bringing their Italian-style cooking to the evening, with food included in your ticket.

✨ You’ll taste 9 award-winning wines
Three winemakers, plenty of good wines each, giving you a generous look at what Paarl is producing right now.

✨ You’ll be part of the very first edition
This is the launch of a brand-new PWR dinner series, hosted in a newly opened Paarl space.

✨ It’s limited to 30 guests
Small enough for real conversation, questions, stories and a seat close to the people behind the bottles.

Before Baronne becomes Baronne, there are two important ingredients that go into the glass - visit Nederburg to experience a truly iconic tasting.

The Nederburg ‘Baronne Rediscovered’ tasting begins with Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, allowing guests to understand how structure, depth, spice and generosity come together in one of South Africa’s most recognisable red blends.

Each component is poured in varietal-specific Riedel glassware, giving you the chance to taste the building blocks before the final blend is rediscovered.

It’s familiar for those of us that are fan favourites, but it leaves you with a little more context. An experience that makes you look at an old favourite differently.

Jazz at Avondale, with FABER at the table 🎷

On Saturday, 5th September, Avondale hosts An Evening of Fine Jazz at FABER, an intimate dinner experience limited to just 55 guests.

The evening opens with a welcome glass of Avondale Armilla MCC, followed by a three-course dinner by FABER with Avondale’s wines poured alongside the menu.

Live jazz will carry through the Manor House with performances by Melorie Jane, Carla Stokes and Lilavan Gangen, adding rhythm and atmosphere to a night shaped by award-winning hospitality and one of Paarl’s most celebrated restaurants.

Dessert usually waits patiently at the end of the meal, but today it gets the spotlight 🥂🍪

The Proe Paarl menus have brought some beautiful endings to the table this August, from pumpkin Basque cheesecake at Smeul and malva pudding at STEEN at Perdeberg, to Belgian chocolate churros at El Picoteo and SCAPE’s signature chocolate cake 🍰

There’s also warm carrot and date pudding at Brookdale, citrus sago pudding at Adara Palmiet, cake of the day at Nederburg, and the beautifully plated dessert courses at Lume at Rhebokskloof.

Some bookings are made for the mains. Others are made because you saw the dessert first 👀

A warm welcome to Bacco Estate! 🥂

We’re pleased to welcome Bacco Estate as the newest member of the Paarl Wine Route.

Bacco is a family-inspired project founded by Nathan Jankelowitz, driven by his passion for premium wine and inspired by the opulence of the Super Tuscan region.The estate has brought that vision to life with its wines and one of the more interesting food experiences in the Winelands, led by Nathan’s daughter Carla, whose Cicchetti menu features Italian-inspired small plates that change on the 1st of every month.

At the end of the year, guests get to vote for their favourite dishes, with the winning plates making their way onto the December menu.

At Nederburg Uncharted, that changes.

This Dinner of Discovery experience invites guests to taste blindfolded, removing the familiar cues of colour and glass. What follows is a different type of attention.

You notice the wine differently. You listen more closely. You start asking why one aroma feels familiar, or why one sip takes you somewhere you did not expect.

The journey ends with a three-course dinner, shaped around the same idea of exploration and interpretation.

On the 29th August, Nederburg is hosting a Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry Viewing Party, and this is your sign to watch the game somewhere with real match-day energy.

There’ll be big screens, live music, food, wine, lucky draws, and spot prizes, with space for families and friends to make a day of it. The kids can enjoy the play area with childminders, while the adults focus on the important things: the score, the wine and of course backing the Boks.

Uncharted has arrived at Nederburg ✨

Nederburg launches a new multi-sensory dinner experience at the Manor House, inviting guests to begin the evening blindfolded and guided through three South African landscapes using sound, touch and scent 🍃

Only afterwards are the wines revealed, each inspired by the landscapes guests have just experienced, followed by a three-course dinner in one of Paarl’s most historic wine spaces 🍷
