Ngqushwa Local Municipality held its IDP, Budget and PMS Representative Forum at Ncumisa Kondlo Hall, bringing together stakeholders to strengthen public participation in integrated development planning and budgeting processes.
The forum focused on the presentation of the 2027/28 IDP and Budget Process Plan, which outlines the key activities, timeframes and responsibilities guiding the municipality’s planning cycle.
Cllr Mhlakane, Acting Mayor of the Day, addressed stakeholders, emphasising the importance of their input in shaping development priorities and ensuring community needs are reflected in planning processes.
The plan is structured into five phases: preparation for the IDP review, situational analysis, objectives and strategies, integration, and approval. It includes service assessments, identification of priorities, refinement of projects and strategies, integration of sector plans, IDP and budget roadshows, and submission of the final IDP to Council for approval.
The Representative Forum serves as a key platform for engagement between the municipality and stakeholders, ensuring that planning and budgeting are informed by community needs and priorities.
The session was also attended by the Municipal Manager, Heads of Departments, and Council members.
