Today, a Picketing led by SRCT Chairperson, Sesona Maswana and Secretary, Boniwe Lanke together with SRCT member Simthembile Nyaniso and Ward 3 EFF Branch Chairperson, Thembela Mbaza and ground forces of the EFF Ngqushwa Subregion stood firm at the Ngqushwa Magistrate Court. We did not gather for spectacle - we gathered for justice.
A painful case of r**e, reported to the organisation, brought us together in defence of one of our own - a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Let it be clear:
An injury to one is an injury to all.
We refuse to live in a society where gender, identity, or sexuality becomes a reason for violence. We refuse silence. We refuse fear.
To the victim:
You are not alone. The Fighters stand with you. The revolution stands with you. ❤️🖤💚
Let this be known days of hiding behind stigma and silence are numbered. The community is watching. The Fighters are watching. Justice will not be negotiated.
This is bigger than one case -
It is about the dignity of black bodies.
It is about the safety of our communities.
It is about ending gender-based violence in ALL its forms.
We call on society:
Stand up. Speak out. Protect the vulnerable.
No justice, no peace.
