Asimile Siyaqhuba: 5 years of Massive Service Delivery

The Msunduzi Municipality successfully completed and officially unveiled a 42-metre, 5-ton Bailey Bridge at Henley Dam in Ward 4 through the Welisizwe Rural Bridges Programme. The bridge provides residents with a safe and reliable crossing for pedestrians and vehicles, reducing travel risks and improving connectivity. The project also created employment opportunities for 74 local community members, supporting livelihoods and contributing to improved mobility, safety, and quality of life in the area.

MSUNDUZI MUNICIPALITY WOMEN’S DAY COMMEMORATION

Municipal Manager Mr S.F. Mndebele warmly welcomed municipal female employees to the Women’s Day Commemoration for Management, currently underway at the Golden Horse Casino.

The programme brings together women in leadership across the Municipality to celebrate their contributions, reflect on their experiences and engage on issues that are important to their personal and professional growth within public service.

Deputy Municipal Manager Ms M. Molapo delivered an empowering address, highlighting the pivotal role women play in driving service delivery, fostering innovation and mentoring the next generation of municipal leaders.

The programme continues with engaging and thought-provoking sessions from a range of guest speakers, covering important topics including:

🔹 Women’s integrity and empowerment
🔹 Emotional intelligence and resilience in challenging and toxic environments
🔹 Parental management and balancing responsibilities
🔹 Marriage law and women’s rights
🔹 Workplace bullying, victimisation, discrimination and sexual harassment awareness
🔹 The “pulling down syndrome” among women and professional jealousy in the workplace
🔹 Building supportive networks and creating an environment where women can thrive

The sessions are providing an opportunity for meaningful conversations, reflection, knowledge-sharing and interaction, with women encouraged to openly engage, ask questions and learn from the experiences of the guest speakers.

The Municipality continues to celebrate and recognise the invaluable contribution of women in building a stronger, more responsive and effective public service.

Msunduzi Municipal Library Services’ Children’s Library hosted the 9th Annual Girls Talk, an empowering event focused on inspiring and building confidence in young girls.

The event encouraged young girls to make the right choices, speak positively about themselves from an early age, and embrace the power of positive words and affirmations in shaping their confidence and future.

The programme featured inspiring speakers who shared their personal experiences, challenges and motivations, encouraging the young girls to believe in themselves, embrace their potential and dream boldly.
