Strengthening Budget Analysis Capacity in Limpopo
Limpopo Provincial Treasury in collaboration with the Government Technical Advisory Centre (GTAC), is conducting a five-day Budget Analyst Capacity Building programme at Forever Resorts, Bela-Bela. All provincial departments officials dealing with budgeting are in attendance.
This programme is an important investment in strengthening budget analysis and public financial management capabilities across the Province.
As fiscal pressures increase and the demand for quality public services grows, skilled budget analysts play a critical role in interrogating expenditure, assessing value for money,supporting evidence-based budgeting and decision-making.
In partnership with GTAC, the programme provides an applied learning platform focused on practical tools and analytical techniques, including:
🔹 Strategic budgeting and baseline analysis
🔹 Performance assessment
🔹 Infrastructure expenditure analysis
🔹 Revenue analysis
🔹 Savings & efficiency measures and
🔹 Strengthening the provincial budget process
Participants are encouraged to engage actively, share experiences, challenges, assumptions and learn from one another. The multidisciplinary approach also strengthens collaboration between Provincial Treasury and sector departments, bringing together financial and service-delivery perspectives.
In her welcome remarks, Chief Director: Budget and Public Finance, Ms Ramadimetja Masekoameng said "Our collective goal is clear: to make better-informed budget choices, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of public spending and ultimately strengthen service delivery to the people of Limpopo."
She further extended the department's appreciation to GTAC for its partnership and to all participants for their commitment to this important initiative.
