TAKING THE STRUGGLE TO THE SCHOOLS

COSAS Limpopo Provincial Secretary Cde Nhlamulo Machevele, joined by Poeletso Mmethi ANCYL Ward 14 Branch Secretary, visited Luthuli Park Combined School, where they engaged with the RCL and SMT on the challenges confronting the school.

The leadership also addressed learners during assembly and raised serious concerns about the state of the school’s infrastructure and other conditions affecting quality learning and teaching.

COSAS remains committed to defending the right of every learner to quality education in a safe, dignified and conducive environment.

A better education system is not a favour it is a right.

COSAS Limpopo, led by Provincial Secretary Cde Nhlamulo Steven Machevele, together with PEC Member Cde Katlego Chaba and joined by Regional Coordinator Cde Nhlamulo Mombobi, participated in the SADTU Sports Day at Seshego Stadium.

COSAS delivered a message of support and reaffirmed the longstanding relationship between COSAS and SADTU in advancing the interests of learners, educators and the broader struggle for quality education.

COSAS Limpopo, led by Provincial Secretary Cde Nhlamulo Machevele, joined by PEC Member Cde Katlego Chaba, visited Westernburg High School to engage with learners and encourage them to remain focused, disciplined and committed to their studies.

We further took the opportunity to motivate the Matric Class of 2026 as they prepare for their final examinations, reminding them that their hard work, resilience and determination will shape their future.

NO LEARNER LEFT BEHIND | UNIVERSITY APPLICATION CAMPAIGN

The Congress of South African Students (COSAS) Limpopo, led by Provincial Secretary Cde Nhlamulo Machevele, together with Regional Coordinator Cde Nhlamulo Mabobo, has taken the “No Learner Left Behind” campaign to Mankoeng High School.

The campaign is focused on assisting Grade 12 learners who are struggling to access and complete university applications, ensuring that financial, technological or administrative barriers do not prevent deserving learners from pursuing higher education.

We are taking the university application process directly to our schools because every learner deserves an opportunity to access higher education.

COSAS Limpopo remains committed to ensuring that no learner is left behind as we fight for quality education, equal opportunities and education for liberation.

The COSAS Limpopo Provincial Leadership, led by Provincial Secretary Cde Nhlamulo Steven Machevele, together with Deputy Provincial Secretary Cde Paballo Papole, PEC Member Cde Nape Mojapelo, and COSAS Sandra Baloyi Regional Task Team Convenor Cde Sharon Mohale, attended the funeral service of the late COSAS leader, Ms Lynette Khosa, at Ga Mokgwati.

As an organisation rooted in the communities we serve, the Provincial Executive further proceeded to the Operational Centre and Voting District (VD) in Ward 2, where we joined the voter registration drive and assisted with the registration of new voters ahead of the upcoming Local Government Elections.

From honouring our fallen comrades to organising young people and strengthening democratic participation, COSAS remains committed to serving, organising and mobilising our communities.

COSAS Limpopo Provincial Secretary Cde Steven Machevele delivered a message of support at the SASCO Robert Mathebula Branch Youth Empowerment Programme held at the University of Limpopo.

In his message, Cde Machevele emphasised the importance of young people actively participating in democratic processes, calling on all learners who are eligible to vote to register and exercise their democratic right ahead of the upcoming Local Government Elections.

He further called upon the Progressive Youth Alliance (PYA) to work alongside COSAS in supporting matriculants with applications to universities, TVET colleges and other institutions of higher learning, ensuring that no learner is left behind due to a lack of information or support.

From the classroom to higher education, COSAS continues to organise, empower and prepare young people for the future.
