It is with a heavy heart to hear the news of the passing away of His Excellency the former President of the republic of Zambia Dr Kenneth Kaunda, zim Id would like to convey its heartfelt condolences to the Kaunda family, the people of the Republic of Zambia, to Africa as a continent and to the President of Zimbabwe's Independent Democrats Mr Gift Eglone who himself was sheltered by the Zambian government during the liberation struggle when his Parents moved to Zambia under Dr Kenneth Kaunda 's Administration, it is indeed a great loss to us ,the people of Zambia and to the entire African community

Zim Id has learnt with great sadness about the ravaging effects of covid 19 which has knocked at the doors of Government officials the country having lost the ministers in the past week. We convey our condolences to the Moyo family over the loss of minister SB Moyo and to the Matiza and Zimondi family also the Gwaradzimba family over the loss of their family members who are Government ministers as well. Though we are an Opposition party we do not celebrate the demise of our opponents we rather wish our competitors long life for them to experience noble Governance under our Administration in the near future. We however rest our hope in the resurrection of the dead when Jesus returns
