Grey Junior School is a leading boys’ school in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, and celebrates over 160 years of rich heritage and tradition; firm foundations upon which we continue to build with confidence today. The aim of providing diverse opportunities for boys to develop to their full potential has not changed since 1856, and our motto, Tria Juncta in Uno, encapsulates our belief in the balanced development of body, mind and spirit (Three Joined in One). Our educational philosophy is expressed in our commitment to:
- The maintenance of a disciplined teaching and learning environment;
- The development of self-discipline, self-confidence and self-identity;
- The pursuit of high standards and personal excellence;
- The promotion of positive attitudes and values systems;
- The development of social conscience and service to community;
- The promotion of environmental awareness;
- The acquisition of accurate and useful knowledge and understanding;
- The promotion of relevant 21st century skills, including collaboration,
communication, creativity, critical thinking, innovation, leadership,
entrepreneurship, adaptability and resilience;
It is our sincere hope that Grey Junior boys will grow up to become men who are recognised by their commitment to excellence in all things, admired for their courageous spirits and respected for their character; ready to play their part in the rapidly changing world.
