We were honoured to be represented at the East African Youth Forum on Drugs held in Arusha, Tanzania. An important gathering focused on drug prevention, harm reduction, psychosocial support and community-based responses across Africa.
Representing MCC was one of our Community Drug Prevention & Psychosocial Support Facilitator - Makalo Sonwabile and Dr Musa Aminu, Co-founder of Khirana Healthcare, who has previously partnered with us through facilitator training and community drug education initiatives.
The forum provided valuable opportunities for collaboration, knowledge-sharing and discussions on community-based responses to substance abuse. Key topics included prevention, education, stigma reduction, youth empowerment and holistic support systems.
Soso shared insights from our drug prevention and psychosocial support programmes while also learning from innovative approaches across the continent. The experience also strengthened partnerships with organisations and experts, reinforcing the role of collaboration and community-led interventions in creating lasting change. 💙
