SAFETY ALERT!!!

The 5th Avenue,Walmer, refuse tip is in an absolutely horrendous state. We have written to the Municipality regarding the state thereof and requested them to urgently attend to this issue.

We strongly suggest that residents refrain from using this tip and rather use the other alternative tip i.e the Summerstrand tip, until such time as the 5th Avenue Walmer tip is in a good state to use.

Community Safety, Cable Theft and Informal Structures

This morning, action was taken to remove individuals who had been occupying informal structures and were linked to three separate incidents of cable theft along William Moffett.

Cable theft has a serious impact on our community and places an additional financial burden on the municipality, which now has to implement extra security measures to protect critical infrastructure and prevent further losses.

We also addressed informal structures at the corner of 17th Avenue and Buffelsfontein Road, where residents have raised ongoing concerns about harassment and intimidation in the area.

It is important to remember that behind every situation like this are people who need assistance. On numerous occasions, the individuals were spoken to and advised where they could access alternative shelter and support.

At the same time, residents have a right to feel safe in their neighbourhoods, and critical municipal infrastructure must be protected.

We will continue working with the relevant authorities to address these issues responsibly, while ensuring that the concerns and safety of residents remain a priority.

A R23 Billion victory for NMB!

🚨 NATIONAL TREASURY HAS HEARD US.

The DA called for urgent intervention into Nelson Mandela Bay’s proposal to write off a staggering R23 BILLION in Unauthorised, Irregular, Fruitless and Wasteful Expenditure.

Now, National Treasury has stepped in.

💰 R23 billion cannot simply be written off.
🔎 Every rand must be accounted for.
⚖️ Those responsible must face consequences.

Nelson Mandela Bay needs a government that takes residents’ money seriously.

On 4 November, let’s get NMB working again. 💙

Approximately 3 weeks ago we donated vegetable seedlings and seeds to Jerusalem Ministries in Albert Road, Walmer.

Last week we were sent the pictures below of the vegetable gardens created by the people of Jerusalem Ministries.
They are doing an amazing job!

Late last week we were approached by them for additional seedlings and seeds as they wish to extend their vegetable garden.

We will keep you updated on progress!!
