Jo Kinda - People Jo Kinda – Mdali is a brewing pot for a new mind-set that is connected from the township to the rest of the world.

Organization

The name of the organisation is Jo Kinda, “Kinda” (pro¬nounced “keenda”), “is a Jaluo word for endeavour,”. “Jo Kinda means people who endeavour to succeed.” We are a registered organisation registration number 184-752 NPO. We have two main programs being MDALI and The Daughters. MDALI Program

MDALI – acronyms for music, drama/design, arts and literature initiative, is a Xhosa word

that translates to creator in English. This is a program that stimulates critical and creative cultural activities among the youth encouraging the youth to be – MDALI – creators of their own success. Youth are empowered through consecutive workshops on how to use the arts and thought as a tool to convey ideas and knowledge therefore becoming catalysts of the change they want to see. MDALI is a platform for creative, innovative and critical engagement among the youth, were their thoughts and voices matter. All initiatives are driven and executed by the youth to serve the youth and their communities thus empowering the youth with a sense of accomplishment.
