In loving memory of Michael Gaga ๐๏ธ
It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to Michael Gaga, who passed away unexpectedly on 5 September.
Michael was a qualified Child and Youth Care Worker who had dedicated many years to caring for children. He had even chosen to continue working rather than take retirement, because there was still so much he wanted to give.
In February 2025, Michael joined the Khayalethu family. We recognised the experience, wisdom and care he had to offer our boys and he quickly became a quiet, calm and integral part of our team.
He built wonderful relationships with the boys and was known for his exceptional work ethic, reliability and trustworthiness. Whether caring for the boys at the Centre or transporting them from one place to another, we knew they were always in safe hands.
Michael was due to retire at the end of 2026. We are deeply saddened that he will not have the opportunity to enjoy that next chapter of his life.
Many children have grown up under Michael's care, and his influence will live on in the lives of those he helped along the way. At Khayalethu, both the boys and staff will miss his steady presence, his quiet strength and the contribution he made.
Our deepest condolences go to Michael's family and loved ones. We are so very sorry for your loss.
Rest peacefully, Michael. You will be remembered with gratitude and affection by everyone at Khayalethu. ๐ค
