⚠️ ELECTRICITY INFRASTRUCTURE ALERT – NU6

Residents, we are aware of the damaged electricity pole situated in front of the SASSA Offices in NU6.

The pole appears to have rotted at the base and broken, with the overhead cables currently holding it in position. The matter has already been reported to the Electricity Department, and we are awaiting their response on the immediate intervention required.

Given the condition of the pole and its proximity to the road, we are hoping for a swift response to prevent a possible obstruction or safety risk to pedestrians and motorists.

We will continue engaging the relevant department and keep residents updated on developments.

🇿🇦 HERITAGE DAY | 24 SEPTEMBER

🇿🇦 HERITAGE DAY | OUR HISTORY. OUR CULTURES. OUR PRIDE. OUR UNITY.

Today, we celebrate the richness of who we are.

Africa is a continent of many peoples, languages, cultures, traditions and histories. From our Kings and Queens, to our ancestors who walked before us; from our indigenous languages to our music, dance, clothing, food and customs our heritage tells the story of where we come from.

What makes us unique is not that we are the same. It is that we are different, yet we can stand together as one people.

Heritage Day gives us an opportunity to learn from one another to understand the meaning behind our traditions, to respect each other’s cultures and to pass our knowledge and stories to the next generation.

Whether we speak isiXhosa, isiZulu, Sesotho, Setswana, Afrikaans, English or any of our many beautiful languages, we are connected by our shared humanity.

Ubuntu teaches us: I am because we are.

Let us celebrate our heritage with pride, respect and dignity. Let us remember those who came before us, honour the traditions they left behind, and build a future where our diversity is not something we fear, but something we celebrate.

Our heritage is our identity.
Our diversity is our strength.
Our unity is our future.

🇿🇦 Happy Heritage Day to all residents of Ward 59 and South Africa.

Masibhiyoze ngembali yethu. Masibhiyoze ngamasiko ethu. Masibhiyoze ngobunye bethu.

Siyahluka kodwa singabantu.

🚗 MOTHERWELL TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT – A POSITIVE SERVICE EXPERIENCE

This morning I renewed my driver’s licence at the Motherwell Traffic Department, and I want to share my experience with residents.

I made my booking online last week through the NaTIS Online system and received an appointment for today, 22 September at 13:00.

I arrived at around 13:00 and by approximately 13:25, the process was completed.

From submitting my documents, completing the required form, the eye test and payment at the cashier, I was attended to promptly and without unnecessary delays.

📌 What I took with me:
• 2 passport-size photos
• Proof of Address (PoA)
• Original ID
• R216 — cash or card
• Eye-test report from an optometrist is optional

I was advised that my new licence card should be available within 4–6 weeks.

💻 RESIDENTS – MAKE USE OF ONLINE BOOKINGS

I would also like to encourage residents to make use of the NaTIS Online platform before visiting the Traffic Department where the service is available.

👉 NaTIS Online – Bookings & Services
https://online.natis.gov.za/ #/

The platform can be used for various traffic-related services, including driving licence renewals, learner’s and driving licence test bookings and Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) applications, among other services.

Using the online booking system can help residents plan their visit, secure an appointment and reduce unnecessary waiting time.

👏🏾 I would like to commend the officials at the Motherwell Traffic Department for the efficient service I received today.

When public services work efficiently, we must acknowledge it and encourage the standard to be maintained.
