The EFFYC NWU Potchefstroom Campus Branch has written a letter to the office of Student Life, the Registrar, and the Vice-Chancellor requesting an urgent engagement regarding the R150 application fee.

We find this decision to be unfair, exclusionary, and procedurally flawed, particularly in light of its timing. Applications for the 2027 intake are scheduled to open on 01 June 2026, which is merely days away. The introduction of such a significant financial requirement at this late stage is rushed and inconsiderate, and it undermines principles of fairness and proper institutional communication.

The EFFYC refuses to stand idly by while students are betrayed.

It has come to our attention that many of you have received emails regarding the suspension of NSFAS funding under the “Gap Investigation” reason. The EFFYC is aware of these emails circulating across the student populace and looking into possible interventions to challenge unfair suspensions and assist affected students. 🖤💚❤️
