Today, we visited Thorntree View in Soshanguve. It's encouraging to see the transformative outcome of a land investment made over two decades ago.

Thorntree View Development has schools, shopping centres, student accommodation and approximately 44,000 housing opportunities will be created once the development is complete.

This development is creating jobs, attracting investment and bringing economic opportunities closer to our people.

Trading For Locals: Today, we returned to Marabastad to inspect the construction progress of market trading stalls.

The stalls will accommodate three restaurants, to be utilised by local women following a request from the community. In addition, they’ll be 62 trading stalls for fruit and vegetable vendors. The stalls are located adjacent to the Tshwane Retail Market to enable the expansion of trade in the area. We expect the stalls will be ready in October 2026.

The informal traders who will be allocated stalls will need to be South African and have permits issued by the City.

Today, I launched my election posters across Tshwane with a simple ask: give ActionSA 5 more years to keep fixing our Capital.

Five more years to get the basics right. To deliver reliable services. To build safe, clean communities. To grow our economy and create opportunity.

We’ve made progress. There is much more to do.

Give us 5 more years to build a Capital City we can all be proud of. 💚🇿🇦

Tshwane Metro Police Warrant Officer, VBD Mirira Maphosa, has served the City of Tshwane for 42 years. His career began as a security officer.

He was selected to serve as a metro police officer when the department was created in 2002.

We thank him for his service to the people of Tshwane 🇿🇦.

TMPD’s By-Law Enforcement Unit arrested a woman found selling contraceptives in the Pretoria C*D. She’s from Zimbabwe and had no trading permit or immigration documentation.
