A man on Facebook challenged me and try to prove that Jesus(AS) is God. I asked him for his proof, and he asked me to read Isaiah 9:6, it clearly shows that Jesus is God. Many many Christians quote this verse to show that Jesus is God. Now let us subject this verse and see if their assertion is right.
Here I quote the whole verse:
"Unto us, a child is born, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of peace" Isaiah 9:6. Let's break it down and see if indeed he is God.

" For us, a child is born"... The fact that he is born, and has been a child, he is not God. The fact that he has a mother who gave birth to him does not in the remotest sense qualify him to be God. A God coming out from a woman's private part????
" To us, a son is born"...again a son is born means a righteous son is born, which clearly from a linguistic point of view cannot be God.
"And the government will be on his shoulders"....Which government? Jesus has never ruled even a square foot of the land of Israel when he was on earth. His government arrested him, beat him up, stripped him naked, spat on him, and hanged him on a tree naked with only a napkin on him.
"And he will be called Wonderful Counselor"..Of course, he counseled many people and advised them on goodness just like many Counselors we have today in our midst.
" He will be a Mighty God".... were in any part of the Bible from cover to cover has he ever been addressed as Mighty God? Please show me. On the contrary, he said: My father is greater than I, my father is greater than all. He said: Oh our Father who art in heaven.
He said: This is life eternal, the Only One true God, and Jesus, whom you sent...He said: Of that day and hour knoweth no man, not the angels, not even (me) the son, but the Father alone.
"Everlasting Father" How can he be Everlasting when according to the Christians he is dead and has changed form? He is not in Israel now since he came to earth. He cannot be Everlasting. The real God, the Creator is Everlasting from whence there was no Everlast.
"Prince of peace" All Muslims believe Jesus was a prince of peace, just like all Prophets and Messengers sent were princes of peace. But your own Bible in the book of Matthew 10:34 Jesus said: Do not think that I have come to bring peace, no, I come to bring SWORD. I have come to divide mother and father, a man and his neighbor....."

Unfortunately, Jesus is saying one thing and you are doing another thing. Between you and Jesus who is telling the truth??? We Muslims believe Jesus is speaking the truth, for such is he(AS)

Watch how these Christians will jump on me accusing me of denigrating Jesus when in fact I am only presenting facts and logic and common sense. Watch again, they will turn around and accuse me of not having Holy Ghost.

An American journalist asked an American priest who later converted to Islam and changed his name to Abdul Latif: "Why did you decide to embrace Islam?" He replied, "Because I couldn't be a hypocrite." The journalist asked again, "Why did you feel like a hypocrite? Explain." He answered, "When I read the Old and New Testaments, I saw that all the books spoke of Jesus as a prophet, a human, and a messenger only. But I told my congregation that Jesus is God, even though the scriptures themselves didn't say that. That's hypocrisy."

Then he said, "When I read the Quran, I found one verse: 'Say, If there were other gods along with Him, as they claim, they would certainly seek a way to the Owner of the Throne.' (Quran 17:42) I imagined, if there were two gods or more with different opinions, whose will would be carried out? Could one god submit to another? But I also had many difficult questions, like when Jesus prayed on the mountain, to whom was he praying? If the answer is to God, then there are two gods, one praying and one being prayed to—so Jesus is not God. Another question, when Jesus ascended to heaven and 'sat at the right hand of God', how many gods are on the throne? One on the right, one on the left? If the answer is one God, why are there two seats? There are many questions like that, especially those often asked by children, which are hard to answer clearly. That's why I'm convinced that Islam is the only truth and monotheism (tauhid) is the logic that explains this existence. The face of Jesus in the church is different from the face of God in Mecca."
