🇨🇾 🇬🇷🌹 H Πρεσβεία της Ελλάδος έδωσε το παρών σε εκδηλώσεις μνήμης του Κυπριακού Συνδέσμου Νοτίου Αφρικής, της Ελληνικής Ομοσπονδίας Noτίου Αφρικής και της Ελληνικής Κοινότητας Πρετόριας για τη συμπλήρωση 52 χρόνων από την τουρκική εισβολή στη Κύπρο.
52 χρόνια από την τουρκική εισβολή της 20ης Ιουλίου 1974, η οποία προκάλεσε τον εδαφικό ακρωτηριασμό της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας και το συνεχιζόμενο δράμα χιλιάδων αγνοουμένων, εκτοπισμένων και εγκλωβισμένων κατά παράβαση κάθε έννοιας διεθνούς δικαίου.
Η Ελλάδα υποκλίνεται στη μνήμη των πεσόντων και εκφράζει τον σεβασμό και την ευγνωμοσύνη της προς όλους όσοι με γενναιότητα και αυταπάρνηση υπερασπίστηκαν τη Μεγαλόνησο.
Το Κυπριακό παραμένει έως και σήμερα ένα διεθνές ζήτημα παράνομης εισβολής και κατοχής κράτους-μέλους της ΕΕ και του ΟΗΕ.
Σε σύμπνοια με την Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία, η Ελλάδα είναι προσηλωμένη στην αναζήτηση μιας συνολικής, αμοιβαία αποδεκτής λύσης, στη βάση της Διζωνικής, Δικοινοτικής Ομοσπονδίας, με πολιτική ισότητα Ελληνοκυπρίων και Τουρκοκυπρίων, με μία διεθνή προσωπικότητα, μία κυριαρχία και μία ιθαγένεια, στο πλαίσιο που έχουν καθορίσει τα Ψηφίσματα του Συμβουλίου Ασφαλείας του ΟΗΕ και σύμφωνα με το ευρωπαϊκό κεκτημένο και τις αρχές και αξίες της ΕΕ.
Η Ελλάδα παραμένει σε ετοιμότητα και θα συνεχίσει να συμβάλλει εποικοδομητικά στα επόμενα βήματα της, υπό εξέλιξη, προσπάθειας του Γενικού Γραμματέα του ΟΗΕ, με στόχο την επανεκκίνηση των συνομιλιών, στη βάση του συμφωνηθέντος πλαισίου, υπό την αιγίδα του ΟΗΕ.
Η επίλυση του Κυπριακού, στο πλαίσιο των παραμέτρων που έχει θέσει το Συμβούλιο Ασφαλείας των Ηνωμένων Εθνών, η επανένωση της Μεγαλονήσου και η άρση της κατοχής σε έδαφος μιας χώρας μέλους της ΕΕ, παραμένει ύψιστη προτεραιότητα. 🇨🇾 🇬🇷 🌹

🇨🇾 🇬🇷 🌹The Embassy of Greece participated in memorial events organized by the Cypriot Association of South Africa, the Hellenic Federation of South Africa, and the Hellenic Community of Pretoria to mark 52 years since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus.
52 years since the Turkish invasion on 20 July 1974, which resulted in the territorial amputation of the Republic of Cyprus and the continuing tragedy of the Missing, the Displaced and the Enclaved, in violation of every principle of international law.
Greece honors the memory of the fallen and expresses its respect and gratitude to all those who defended the island with courage and self-sacrifice.
The Cyprus Issue remains, to this day, an international problem of illegal invasion and occupation of a Member State of the European Union and the United Nations.
In full alignment with the Republic of Cyprus, Greece remains firmly committed to the pursuit of a comprehensive, mutually acceptable settlement, on the basis of a Bizonal, Bicommunal Federation, with political equality between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, with a single international personality, single sovereignty and single citizenship, as set out in the relevant UN Security Council Resolutions, and in accordance with the EU acquis and the principles and values of the European Union.
Greece stands ready and will continue to contribute constructively to the next steps of the ongoing efforts of the UN Secretary-General, with a view to the resumption of negotiations on the basis of the agreed framework, under the auspices of the United Nations.
The resolution of the Cyprus Issue, within the framework set out by the UN Security Council, the reunification of the island, and the termination of the occupation of an EU Member State's territory, remains a top national priority.🇨🇾 🇬🇷🌹
