Best Care Emergency Medical Service is a 24-hour Private Ambulance Service, located in Pretoria. Best Care celebrates its 25th year in existence in 2025.

Feel free to hang around and see what we are up to. Best Care Ambulance Service cc opened its doors on 20 August 2000. As a registered Intermediate Life Support Service, we celebrated our tenth year existence in 2010. Best Care Ambulance Service cc operated in Gauteng; Pretoria for the last eleven years, and we are currently spreading our wings to the southern side of Gauteng. Started off with one

vehicle, we extended our capabilities and are currently running with nine vehicles on a daily basis to render superior service. In 2009 we registered an Advanced Life Support service as a fusion with Best Care Ambulance Service cc, Ambu-Link Ambulance Service cc was opened on 1 May 2009. We started a volunteering system in 2011 to provide educational access to other medical personnel that is not part of an Emergency Medical Service. We are the only ambulance service that is in possession of such a thorough system and we use this system to create future employees that will suite any Emergency Medical Service. In 2016 we registered as an Advanced Life Support and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Ambulance Service. We are looking forward to the future and possible opportunities that might cross our path. We are open for any business proposals and accept all challenges heading our way. Best Care Emergency Medical Service is proud to have donated an EasyPulse Schiller mechanical CPR device to the EST - Emergency Support Team

As an ambulance service, we are fortunate to have access to mechanical resuscitation equipment during cardiac arrest emergencies. We understand the difference this type of device can make by providing consistent chest compressions while emergency teams focus on the patient’s airway, medication, monitoring and urgent transport.

Placing this equipment in the hands of trained community first responders could make a significant difference during the critical minutes before an ambulance arrives.

Although the device has been donated, it still requires professional refurbishment, replacement batteries, missing parts and technical testing before it can safely be returned to service. The estimated cost to restore it is R80 000.

We are asking our community, local businesses and emergency service partners to support the Emergency Support Team’s campaign and help get this important device operational again.

Best Care Emergency Medical Service responded to a motor vehicle collision on Sefako Makgatho Road involving two vehicles.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel found multiple patients requiring assessment and medical care. A total of four individuals sustained injuries of varying severity and were assessed and treated by responding emergency services.

Best Care Emergency Medical Services Advanced Life Support and Cardiac Unit driven by Chery Centurion stabilised a patient before the ambulance transported the patient to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment. Other patients were managed by responding services according to their clinical needs.

The exact cause of the collision remains unknown and will form part of the relevant investigation. We would like to thank all responding emergency personnel and supporting agencies for their professionalism and teamwork during the incident.

Shortly after midnight, Best Care Emergency Medical Service, responded with the Advanced Life Support & Cardiac Unit driven proudly by Chery Centurion to an industrial workplace incident involving a male patient who sustained blunt force trauma.

Upon arrival, crews found the patient injured after a trailer carrying a heavy load reportedly gave way, resulting in significant trauma. Advanced Life Support interventions were initiated on scene, with the patient being assessed, treated, and stabilized before being transported to a private hospital for further definitive care.

This incident occurred only hours after workplace injuries and occupational safety were discussed on the Mense Wat Omgee programme on Pretoria FM sponsored by CrisisOnCall. It serves as a reminder that industrial incidents can occur unexpectedly and that maintaining a strong culture of workplace safety remains essential.

Best Care EMS would like to acknowledge the assistance provided by the EST - Emergency Support Team members who were completing an observation shift with the ALS & Cardiac Unit. Their support during patient care and scene operations contributed positively to the overall management of the incident.

We would also like to thank K2 Medical for the patient warming blanket, which played an important role in patient care. With a real-feel temperature of approximately 9°C on the industrial site, maintaining the patient's body temperature formed a critical component of trauma management and helped reduce the risk of hypothermia.

We wish the patient a full and speedy recovery and thank all responding personnel for their professionalism, teamwork, and dedication.

Best Care Emergency Medical Service responded to a critical incident in East Lynne involving a male patient who allegedly sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On arrival, multiple agencies were already working together to manage the scene and provide initial support to the patient. The patient was found in a critical condition, requiring immediate Advanced Life Support intervention and rapid stabilization prior to transport.

Following on-scene treatment and stabilization, the patient was transported by our Advanced Life Support paramedic in a critical condition to a nearby medical facility, where care was handed over to the receiving hospital team for continued emergency management.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to EST - Emergency Support Team, CRG Moot, Pretoria Volunteer Emergency Services, and all responding personnel for their teamwork, scene support, and professionalism during a highly emotional and challenging incident.

A special acknowledgement is also extended to EST members who assisted with operational and logistical support during the case, including assisting with vehicle logistics and helping identify available hospital resources during a time of significant pressure on emergency departments. These collaborative efforts play an important role in supporting both patients and responding crews during time-critical emergencies.

Best Care Emergency Medical Service responded to an incident involving an approximately 80-year-old male who collapsed at Latinos Pizzeria in East Lynne, Pretoria.

Upon arrival, the patient had already received initial assistance and stabilization from EST - Emergency Support Team members prior to EMS arrival. The patient was further assessed, monitored, and transported by Best Emergency Medical Services to an appropriate medical facility for further evaluation and care.

We would like to extend our appreciation to EST - Emergency Support Team and Pretoria Volunteer Emergency Services for their assistance, rapid response, and effective teamwork during the incident. We also thank all responding members and coordinators involved in ensuring the patient received prompt medical attention.

𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗶𝗽:

If someone collapses but is still breathing normally, place them into the recovery position while waiting for emergency services. This helps keep the airway open and reduces the risk of choking if vomiting occurs.

• Gently roll the person onto their side
• Tilt the head slightly back to maintain an open airway
• Keep the top leg bent to prevent rolling
• Continuously monitor breathing until help arrives

⚠️ If the person is NOT breathing normally, start CPR immediately and activate emergency services.

Best Care Emergency Medical Service responded to a single-vehicle collision earlier this afternoon.

Upon arrival, Best Care paramedics, with support from the Advanced Life Support and Cardiac Unit driven by Chery Centurion, treated one critically injured patient at the scene.

Sadly, despite all efforts, the patient succumbed to their injuries and was declared deceased on scene.

🙏 Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time. We also extend our sincere thanks to everyone who assisted at the scene.

Best Care paramedics treated and transported two moderately injured adults and children to a nearby hospital.
