REBECCA LETSOALO: POWERING SOUTH AFRICA'S CLEAN ENERGY FUTURE

As South Africa commemorates Women's Month 2026, the achievements of women scientists serve as a powerful reminder that transforming the world of work begins with creating opportunities for women to lead, innovate and solve some of society's most pressing challenges.

Among these trailblazers is Ms Rebecca Letsoalo, a young physicist whose journey demonstrates how talent, determination and access to opportunity can inspire a new generation of women in science.

Currently a Physics Lecturer at the University of Limpopo and a PhD candidate in the School of Physics at the University of the Witwatersrand, Rebecca has rapidly established herself as one of South Africa's emerging researchers in advanced materials science. Her academic journey has been marked by excellence, earning a Bachelor of Science in Physical Sciences from the University of Limpopo, followed by BSc Honours in Physics with Distinction and an MSc in Physics with Distinction from the University of Venda.
