International Police Association - South Africa

International Police Association - South Africa The largest Police Friendship Association in the World with over 3000 members in South Africa and almost 400'000 members world wide.

The International Police Association is an independent body made up of members of the police service, whether in employment or retired, and without distinction as to rank, sex, gender, race, colour, language or religion. Its purpose is to create bonds of friendship and to promote international co-operation. It is committed to the principles set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as

adopted by the United Nations in 1948. Its aims include the development of cultural relations amongst its members, a broadening of their general knowledge, and an exchange of professional experience; in addition, it seeks to foster mutual help in the social sphere and to contribute, within the limits of its possibilities, to peaceful co-existence between peoples and to the preservation of world peace.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› Supporting Forensic Social Workers

IPA South Africa is proud to back our National Chairperson for Socio-Welfare & Wellness in a project that strengthens care for children who have faced trauma.

โœจ We are sponsoring 10 backpacks to support the SAPS Forensic Social Workers with tools that help children express themselves and begin their healing journey. Each bag includes crayons, colouring books, clay, and a mini chalkboard.

๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ These backpacks will be donated to Forensic Social Workers in SAPS FCS Units, specialised professionals who support investigators and courts in cases of child abuse, genderโ€‘based violence, and domestic crimes.

๐ŸŒŸ How you can help:
Sponsor a full backpack for R500, or donate individual items such as crayons, clay, or colouring books. Every contribution makes a difference.

๐Ÿ“ž Send a WhatsApp or email to [email protected] for more information.

Together, we protect, support, and heal.

African Chapter Meeting in IPA Eswatini, A historic first for IPA Africa.

On the 13 February 2026, the IRC African Chapter Meeting in Eswatini took place. The IEB was represented by Kikis Perikleous the IEB Liasion to IPA Africa, IPA President Martin Hoffmann and IPA Vice President Oliver Hoffmann.

This gathering marked a significant milestone โ€” the first-ever IRC African Chapter Meeting held on African soil, bringing together dedicated IPA representatives from across the continent, namely Botswana, Eswatini, Kenya, Lesotho, Mauritius, Mozambique, South Africa and Seychelles.

Hosted with outstanding warmth by IPA Eswatini, the event underscored Africa's growing importance within our global Association and set a strong foundation for future collaboration. Over three productive days, discussions were open, constructive and forward-looking, focusing on how to further strengthen IPA across Africa. A central topic was preparation for the upcoming Convention of the Statutes in Lisbon (14-18 March 2026), where continental perspectives on modernising our International Statutes and Rules were shared to ensure broad input ahead of the World Congress in Sri Lanka.

In a pivotal moment, delegates unanimously elected Jared Ojuok as the next Chair of the African Region, signalling strong regional leadership and commitment to coordinated growth. The Sections thanked the outgoing Chair Vossie Vos for his outstanding commitment and leadership.

Sustainable development requires clear next steps, shared responsibility and measurable follow-up โ€” all of which were agreed upon, with the IEB pledging full support through training, resources and strategic guidance.
