APA was proud to provide medical services at the Skosana Legend Race, hosted by Unite180 this past Saturday.

Our dedicated team was on-site throughout the event, ensuring participants, spectators, and organizers had access to professional medical support whenever needed. We are committed to promoting safety and contributing to the success of community sporting events.

Thank you to Unite 180 for the opportunity to be part of such a fantastic event. Congratulations to all the runners who participated and made the day a memorable success!

🚑 APA had an amazing time visiting the Voortrekkers!

We had the opportunity to educate and engage with the group on basic first aid procedures, emergency response, and the important role we play in the EMS field. From learning how to respond in emergencies to understanding when and how to call for help, it was a fun and informative experience for everyone involved.

Thank you to the Voortrekkers for the warm welcome and enthusiasm! We loved spending time with you all and sharing knowledge that can truly make a difference! 👏

Hypothermia is a dangerous condition that happens when the body loses heat faster than it can produce it, causing body temperature to drop too low. ❄️

People most at risk include babies, elderly individuals, people exposed to cold or wet weather for long periods, hikers, swimmers, and anyone without adequate warm clothing or shelter.

Signs may include intense shivering, confusion, slurred speech, exhaustion, slow breathing, and loss of coordination.

Treatment includes moving the person to a warm, dry place, removing wet clothing, warming them gradually with blankets and warm clothing, and seeking emergency medical help. Severe hypothermia is a medical emergency and should always be taken seriously. 🚑
