RMVO / CMVO : Raad van Militêre Veterane Organisasies van SA The CMVO is a management body for the affiliated military veteran org's with mil vet members.

The CMVO is the short name for the Council of Military Veterans Organizations which in essence is a management body for all the recognised military veterans’ organisations of the UDF/SADF/SANDF military veterans. The CMVO is represented by military veterans from the statutory forces, some who were very high-ranking while still in active services, and who now make their time available on a voluntee

r basis to influence and lobby the government to provide benefits to our needy military veterans, including former National Servicemen, Commandos, Citizen Force and PF’s

The objects for which the CMVO is established are as follows:
• To protect and promote the common interests of organisations as defined in the Constitution, which are members of the Council.
• To confer and co-operate with, and promote unity among, all military veterans' organisations.
• To assist in the promotion of the welfare and interests of all military veterans and their dependants and to co-ordinate representations made from time to time on their behalf.
• To assist in the promotion of the welfare and interests of all serving members of the South African Defence Forces and their dependants.
• To admit national and regional organisations to either full or associate membership on such terms and conditions as may from time to time be determined by the Council.

CMVO-SA Chairperson R Adm (ret) R.W. Higgs and management congratulates Lt Gen Dr Nsizwa on his appointment as SG, pray that our Lord will grant you wisdom, strength and courage.

Lieutenant General (Dr) Nsizwa Skosana: Taking the Pulse of South African National Defence Force Military Health.

Lieutenant General (Dr) Nsizwa Skosana was officially promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General and formally appointed as the new Surgeon General by the Chief of the South African National Defence Force, General Rudzani Maphwanya, on 4 September 2026 at the Pretoria Military Sports Club in Thaba Tshwane.

The promotion and appointment mark a significant milestone in the leadership of the South African Military Health Service, as Lieutenant General Skosana assumes responsibility for providing strategic leadership and direction to military health services in support of the South African National Defence Force’s operational mandate.

Lieutenant General Skosana brings extensive clinical, operational and military health leadership experience to the position. His previous appointments include General Officer Commanding 1 Military Hospital, Chief Director Military Health Force Support and Deputy Surgeon General.

Dis met hartseer om te verneem dat Genl Maj (aft) Robbie Robertze vroëer vandag (24 Aug 2026) op die ouderdom van 72 oorlede is. Hy was nog woonagtig in Veldrif.

Robbie se vrou, Annemarie, is net oor n maande gelede (16 Jul 2026) oorlede.

Robbie se militere loopbaan het in Feb 1972 begin. Sy aanstellings het oa ingesluit, SO2 Log 16 Ondh Eenh, Bev 81 TVD en daar na verskeie staff poste by Leer HK & Log Div.

Rus in Vrede Genl, dit was n eer om u te geken het van Suidwes se dae en ook met u te kon saamwerk hier in Pretoria"

CMVO Chairperson R Adm R.W. Higgs and management members conveys condolences, share blessings and strength to family of late Maj Gen (ret) Military Veteran SAAFA). 17 Aug 26.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the news that our beloved father and husband, Maj Gen Jerry Coetzee, passed away early this morning.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who sent Jerry messages of encouragement and support over the past few days. He deeply appreciated the kindness, concern and support shown to him and our family.

Jerry loved the Air Force and his time at 35 Squadron dearly and treasured the many friendships and relationships he formed with the people he had the privilege of serving and working alongside throughout his career.

Thank you to everyone who has already reached out with messages of sympathy and condolences. Your kindness and support mean more to us than we can express during this difficult time.

Details of the memorial service will be confirmed and shared within the next day or two.
