Embassy of Belgium in Pretoria We are the Embassy of Belgium in South Africa, also covering the relations between Belgium and Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho & Eswatini.

The Embassy in Pretoria is responsible for the diplomatic realtions between Belgium and the Republic of South Africa and also handles Belgian consular affairs in the following provinces:

Gauteng
Limpopo
Mpumalanga
North-West
Free State
Kwazulu Natal

Belgian consular affairs in the other provinces of South Africa (Western Cape - Eastern Cape - Northern Cape) and Nambia are assured by our Consula

te-General in Cape Town. Apart from our role in South Africa, the Embassy in Pretoria also covers the Belgian interests in and bilateral relations with Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini and Zimbabwe.

Deputy Head of Mission, Sandra Kelleners, and World Health Organization (WHO) candidate for Director General, Dr Hans Kluge, visited Friendship Bench - Zimbabwe, winners of the 2025-2026 King Baudouin Foundation Africa Prize, last week. 🇿🇼

Together with Honorary Consul, Jean Gonçalves, they had the privilege of meeting the inspiring grandmothers and grandfathers at the heart of this initiative, whose work provides essential mental health support to people in their communities. 🎗

The Friendship Bench highlights the importance of accessible, community-led mental health care, helping to break stigma, build resilience, and ensure that no one faces mental health challenges alone.

The Embassy of Belgium is selling a Nissan X-Trail 🚙 and invites interested parties to submit a tender for the vehicle in a sealed envelope, indicating their proposed purchase price. 💸

Ways to submit an offer:
• Submit the offer in-person in a sealed envelope ✉ at the Embassy offices. Offers must be submitted in a sealed envelope and be clearly marked with:
- the submission date;
- the name of the person submitting the bid;
- contact details of person submitting the tender.

• To request the details for submitting an offer electronically 📧 email [email protected]. The relevant contact information and email address to be used to send your offer to will be provided upon request.

The Embassy is delighted to welcome Consul Clémentine Fauconnier to the team! 🎉

As Consul, Clémentine will be responsible for consular affairs in Mozambique 🇲🇿, Lesotho 🇱🇸, Eswatini 🇸🇿, South Africa 🇿🇦 , Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 and Botswana 🇧🇼, supporting Belgian citizens across the region. 🌍🇧🇪

Having served at our embassies in Nigeria, China, and Panama, as well as in the Africa Department of the FPS Foreign Affairs in Brussels, Clémentine brings a wealth of international experience. This summer, she arrived from Alicante, her most recent posting as Consul, together with her family. They are delighted to continue their adventures in South Africa.
