The Water Research Commission(WRC), together with South African National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage (SANCID) founding partners, the Departments of Agriculture (NDA), Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), and the Agricultural Research Council (ARC), will hand over the WHIS award to the Orange-Vaal Water Users Association, as it was received on behalf of the South Africans during 9th Asian Regional Conference of ICID in Sydney, Australia.

As part of the Heritage Day celebrations, the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Ms. Pemmy Majodina, will officiate the handover of an award to the Vaal Orange Water User Association on 18 September 2025.
