Good afternoon residents. I tried to open up the stormwater drain close to the exit gate of Bergbries Villa in Koekoek street. A lot of sand and grass blocking the drain. I subsequently phoned the depot who informed me rhat this drain is no longer maintained as the drain build a few meters from this one is supposed to be adequate during the rainy season

Supporting my neighbours in ward 53 - Councillor Wayne Helfrich and candidate Kobus Scheltema this morning cleaning up 14th avenue- pothole repairs, loading of cut branches, removing illegal adverts on street signs and sweeping the street. Taking hands with volunteers assisting us to bring the change even if it is one street at a time

I was here with the Group Head Water Tiyani Sambo @ Trumper/Walter. He is arranging for welders to return to site after emergency water shut down arranged and area dug up by TLB again. Because of the high pressure the newly designed pipe that was welded started leaking again. It shows a weakness in the welding work that has to be addressed.

*Collins Overhead Line theft - Status Update**

There were two separate jobs reported in Collins where overhead lines were stolen.

*Job 1*: Completed. Supply restored.
*Job 2*: More severe. More than 3 bays need to be replaced and trees need to be cut to gain access.

Due to the extent of the work and safety considerations, if the team starts now it will likely run past 12am.
To ensure safety and quality, the team will commence with this job first thing in the morning and prioritize it.

Will provide updates once work starts.

Ending a busy day with a gratefull heart. This morning had a very successfull recycling day with our trusted partner Thinus Gouws. Then visited the Moot Lockhouse market, and witnessed the mammoth task to clean up the open area opposite Oppiplaas. Dewald from DB Landscaping hats off to you and your team for your absolute passion to see a cleaner and safer Moot. Then back to the property in 30th avenue where good neighbours Christo and Wayne stepped up and started cleaning a very problematic, overgrown property after visits by Health inspector and TMPD. The Moot has many heros that sacrifice their time and resources to clean, restore and take care of our communities. May everyone's efforts be acknowledged and appreciated
