⚠️ POWER INTERRUPTION NOTICE

Affected Area: Portion of Mlungisi (Newtown, Newbright and Bhongweni)

The fault has been detected. The team is now excavating to expose the cable.
Nomnqokwana substation has been temporarily switched off while the team is digging. As soon as the cable has been exposed, repairs will start.

⚠️ POWER INTERRUPTION NOTICE

Affected Area: Portion of Mlungisi (Newtown, Newbright and Bhongweni)

Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality wishes to inform residents that there is a power outage affecting parts of Mlungisi.

The outage is due to a cable fault between Mini-Sub 25 and the Mlungisi Substation. Our technical team is on site and testing equipment has been deployed to locate the fault. Repairs will commence immediately once the fault is detected.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank residents for their patience. Updates will follow.

Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality today handed over certificates to employees who participated in various skills development programmes aimed at strengthening the capacity of the municipal workforce across different directorates.

The programmes covered Peace Officers Training, Occupational Health and Safety, and Operating Regulations for High Voltage Systems (ORHVS).

These training initiatives are intended to equip employees with the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out their responsibilities effectively, promote workplace safety, and strengthen service delivery across the municipality.

The initiative reflects the importance of continuous employee development in building institutional capacity and improving the municipality’s ability to serve its communities.

The Municipal team and Ward 10 residents met today at Gali Thembani Hall to engage on the Smart Meter Installation Project.

SERVICE DELIVERY IN ACTION | HANDOVER OF NEW MUNICIPAL VEHICLES

Today, the Executive Mayor, Cllr Madoda Papiyana, officially handed over two new refuse trucks purchased to strengthen the Municipality’s refuse removal capacity.

The new trucks will help ensure that Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality is better able to adhere to its waste collection schedule and keep our towns clean.

“As we said in the beginning of our term, our main focus is the improvement of basic service delivery,” said Executive Mayor Cllr Madoda Papiyana during the handover of the keys.

In addition, a new vehicle for Human Settlement and Land Development was introduced today. The vehicle will be used to service all municipal towns.

Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality remains committed to improving service delivery for all residents.
