The ANC West Rand Regional Executive Committee (REC) paid a solidarity visit to the Gela family in Simunye Ext. 1, Rand West Sub-Region, following the passing of Cde Annah Gela’s mother.

Cde Annah Gela, the Deputy Provincial Secretary of the ANC Women’s League, received the delegation as they conveyed condolences and offered organisational support to the family.

Her late mother was also a member of the ANC in good standing a loss felt not only by the Gela family, but by the movement and the community.

In times of grief, the ANC remains a family. Solidarity, Ubuntu and service. Amandla! ✊🏾🖤💚💛

Family, friends, the West Rand community, and everyone who knew and loved Cde Mzii Khumalo gathered at Rand West, Greenhills Stadium, to pay their final respects and say goodbye to our beloved comrade.
Cde Mzii Khumalo passed away earlier this week. His passing has left a deep void among his family, friends, comrades, and the wider community.

Reflecting on Cde Mzi Khumalo’s Memorial Service

As the Memorial Service of Cde Mzikayifane “Mzi” Elias Khumalo continues at Greenhills Stadium in Rand West City, we reflect on a life that touched many people and communities.

The leadership of the ANC West Rand, led by Regional Chairperson Cde William William Mathafeng Matsheke and Regional Secretary Cde Mkhuseli Jokazi has joined thousands of comrades, friends, family members and associates in honouring and celebrating the life of Cde Mzi.

Yesterday on Lentswe la Hao | Moja Love 📺

The ANC West Rand Region participated in the Lentswe la Hao political platform on Moja Love, focusing on political parties and their readiness towards the upcoming Local Government Elections.

The ANC was represented by Deputy Chairperson Cde Lucky Sele, who engaged directly with community members, responding to their concerns and highlighting the progress and successes achieved by the ANC led administration in Mogale City.

The engagement provided an important opportunity to account to communities, reaffirm the ANC’s commitment to service delivery and listen to the voices of residents as we move towards the 2026 Local Government Elections.

ANC Pays Homage to Cde Mzii Khumalo

The home of the late Cde Mzii Khumalo in the West Rand became a place of reflection, remembrance and revolutionary solidarity as the African National Congress gathered to pay homage to a dedicated cadre of the movement.

The ANC West Rand Region joined ANC Secretary-General Cde Fikile Mbalula at the home of Cde Mzii Khumalo for a solemn homage visit, honouring the life, contribution and legacy of a comrade who served the movement and the people.

The visit brought together ANC leaders serving in government, leaders from across the regions of Gauteng, as well as members of the ANC Gauteng Provincial Task Team, who came together to convey their condolences and pay tribute to the late Cde Mzii.

As comrades gathered at his home, memories of his contribution to the movement were shared, reflecting on a life shaped by commitment, service and the enduring values of the African National Congress.

In moments of grief, the movement stands together. We remember our fallen comrade, we honour his contribution, and we draw strength from the revolutionary values he represented.
