📚🎓 Office of the Executive Mayor Promotes Mayoral Bursary Scheme Opportunities 🎓📚

The Office of the Executive Mayor visited the following Simunye Secondary School, in Borwa Westonaria to share information with learners about an opportunity to apply for the Mayoral Bursary Scheme.

The Rand West City Local Municipality Mayoral Bursary Scheme is a full-cover bursary that caters for costs related to tertiary education, including:

✅ University tuition fees
✅ Student accommodation (residence)
✅ Textbooks
✅ Study materials
✅ And more

📢 Matric learners across Rand West City are encouraged to apply, as applications are available at the Municipal Offices.

🚍 The bursary roadshow will continue, and all remaining high schools within Rand West City will be visited.

On the Morning of 27 August, the Speaker of Rand West City Local Municipality, Cllr Selina Moumakwe, hosted a successful Women’s Month Commemoration under the theme: “Celebrating the Strength, Resilience, and Legacy of Women through Art and Performance.”

The event brought together remarkable women leaders from across Rand West City, including representatives from community structures, NGOs, churches, businesses, and industry, to honour the invaluable role women continue to play in shaping our society.

The gathering celebrated the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women who have made a meaningful impact in the lives of community members. Through inspiring engagements, artistic expression, and powerful performances, the event highlighted the importance of women’s leadership in advancing social, economic, cultural, and community development.

RRT COMMITMENT: SERVICE DELIVERY GAINS MOMENTUM IN GLENHARVIE

Rand West City's Rapid Response Team was hard at work in Glenharvie!

Grass cutting progressed well in Grootkloof and Pine Streets. Speed hump installation and painting was carried out to improve road safety.

Our Water and Sanitation team acted swiftly when reservoirs ran dry following the Rand Water power failure at the Eikenhof pump station, deploying roaming water tankers to ensure no community was left without water.

We remain committed to responsive and accelerated service delivery.
