Today we had the wonderful privilege to welcome our latest beneficiaries to our home for abused women and children. Mommy is 19 years old and baby is 3 weeks old. They were found by SAPS in Vereeniging hiding in some bushes and were subsequently brought to our facilities. For now we do not want to bother them too much and allow them to settle in and recuperate.

We today again realise how privileged we are to be able to assist in situations like this. We can not do it without the assistance of our wonderful community. Thank you to all of our wonderful partners and friends.
We will keep you up to date with the progress of mommy and daughter.

If you would like to contribute, please contact us on Facebook Messenger or during office hours 010 007 0881.
You are also welcome to contact Jaco at 072 575 0081.

Something special is on the horizon…

Behind every application is a person.
Behind every number is a story.
Behind every challenge is a journey of courage, resilience and hope.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing real stories from our SASSA Project. Stories that remind us that community support can change lives, restore dignity and create opportunities for a brighter future.

These journeys are not about statistics. They are about people.
People who faced obstacles.
People who kept going.
People whose stories deserve to be heard.

Stay tuned as we take you behind the scenes and share the impact, the hope and the human stories that continue to inspire us every day.

The journey is only just beginning.

A helping hand can change a day. Consistent support can change a life.

At Lesedi Community Centre, we believe that every person deserves dignity, opportunity and hope. Through community support, practical assistance, skills development, counselling, food relief and compassionate care, we work alongside those facing difficult circumstances to help them rebuild, recover and move forward.

Real change happens when communities come together, not only to see a need, but to respond to it.

Together, we can create brighter futures, restore hope and remind people that they are not alone.

More than a building. More than a programme. More than a service.

Lesedi Community Centre is a place where hope is restored, skills are developed, families are supported, and lives are transformed.

Every day, people walk through our doors looking for guidance, opportunity, healing, connection, or simply someone who cares. Every day, our team works to create a safe, welcoming environment where individuals and families can find the support they need to move forward.

From skills development and employment readiness to counselling, food support, community outreach and family strengthening, our mission remains the same: to uplift, assist and develop.

Because stronger individuals create stronger families, and stronger families create stronger communities.

Together, we are building a brighter future, one life at a time.

‼️‼️UPDATE 1 JUNE 2026‼️‼️

What a disappointment we had for the fourth time in about three years. This afternoon she simply had enough of the recovery process and insisted to leave LCC. We tried our best to convince her to stay. Later this afternoon some of our staff drove to town to again try and convince her to return, but to no avail. We will keep on praying for her as we understand the bo***ge.

Thank you to all our partners, supporters amd friends. We will continue to fight the good fight against darkness.

✨ From Homeless to Victorious – Help Us Celebrate Stories of Hope ✨

Every October, we commemorate World Homelessness Day. At Lesedi Community Centre, this is more than a date on the calendar—it is an opportunity to reflect on the incredible journeys of the people we serve.

We celebrate the small steps that become life-changing victories: 🌟 Sobriety and recovery
🌟 Emotional healing and personal growth
🌟 Employment and workplace success
🌟 Skills development and education
🌟 Reunification with family
🌟 Independent living and self-sufficiency
🌟 And so many other milestones worth celebrating

This year, our Annual Gala Evening – "From Homeless to Victorious" will honour these achievements and the courage it takes to rebuild a life.

We need your help to make this evening truly special.
👗 We are requesting donations of pre-loved evening wear for ladies
🤵 Suits and formal wear for men 💄 Make-up and beauty products

Your donation can help someone walk into this event feeling confident, dignified, and proud of how far they have come. For many of our residents, this will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend a formal gala and be celebrated for their achievements.

Together, we can ensure that every resident feels seen, valued, and honoured on this special night.

❤️ Please consider donating or sharing this post with your friends, family, workplace, church, or community groups.

📱 For donations or more information, contact Lezanne on WhatsApp: 084 854 1897
Thank you for helping us Uplift, Assist & Develop our community.

Happiness grows when it is shared. 🤍

At Lesedi Community Centre, every meal served, every conversation held, every hand reached out and every opportunity created is rooted in one thing… people caring for people.

A community becomes stronger when we choose compassion over judgment, support over silence, and hope over hopelessness.

Sometimes sharing happiness is as simple as showing up, listening, helping someone carry their burden, or reminding them that they matter.

Together, we continue building a community where people feel seen, valued and uplifted.

Sometimes people don’t need judgment.
They don’t need another door closed in their face.
They don’t need whispers, labels, or people pretending not to see them.

Sometimes they simply need someone to stop long enough to care.

Behind homelessness is often trauma, addiction, mental health struggles, abuse, loss, rejection, poverty, or life circumstances most people could never imagine carrying. No one grows up dreaming of sleeping on cold floors, carrying their life in bags, or feeling invisible to the world around them.

At Lesedi Community Centre, we believe every person still deserves dignity, support, guidance, and hope. Because no matter how broken life becomes, people are still people.

And sometimes, one safe place, one meal, one conversation, one opportunity… can become the beginning of change. ❤️

‼️UPDATE‼️🛑
The journey so far has had both difficult moments and encouraging victories. This afternoon, we had to take her to the doctor because of a large lump on her arm, most likely caused by the use of infected needles while she was still living on the streets. It is heartbreaking to see the physical toll that addiction has taken on her body, but we are grateful that she is finally in a safe place where healing can begin.
One thing that truly encourages us is her appetite — she eats like a hungry teenager, and we couldn’t be happier about it. It may seem like a small thing, but to us it is a sign that her body is slowly starting to recover. She spends most of her time resting, and we are thankful for the medication that is helping to make the withdrawals a little more bearable.
At the moment, she still cannot wear shoes because of the painful sores on her feet, and she mostly wears pajamas because of the wounds on her body. But day by day, little by little, healing is taking place. The scars of the street will not disappear overnight, but neither will the love, care, and support surrounding her now.
Tomorrow, we will spoil her with a special hair treatment — a small but meaningful reminder that she is worthy of care, dignity, and restoration. Her journey is no longer just about recovery from addiction; it is about rediscovering hope, healing, and her value as a person.
Please continue to keep her in your prayers as this road to restoration continues, because with God, everything is possible.
