FOLLOW-UP PUBLIC NOTICE: TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ESIKHALENI REVENUE AND RATES OFFICES

The City of uMhlathuze Municipality refers to the previous public notice issued regarding the fire incident at the eSikhaleni Offices, which affected the Revenue and Licensing Offices.

The Municipality wishes to inform members of the public that the matter is still receiving the necessary attention and the relevant assessments and processes are continuing to determine the extent of the damage and the safety of the affected premises.

Residents and affected stakeholders are assured that the Municipality is working diligently towards resolving the matter and restoring services at the affected offices.

The Municipality acknowledges the inconvenience caused by the temporary closure and sincerely appreciates the patience, understanding and cooperation of the public during this time.

Further updates will be communicated to the public as progress is made, including information regarding the resumption of services at the affected offices.

The City of uMhlathuze Mayor, Cllr Xolani Ngwezi, today joined the Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Hon. Narend Singh, the KZN MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), Rev. Musa Zondi, and the King Cetshwayo District Municipality Mayor, Cllr Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, in a massive clean-up operation in Brackenham.

The operation targeted invasive alien species that pose a threat to the local ecosystem and environment.

During the campaign, residents were reminded about the importance of keeping their communities clean and protected against all forms of pollution.

City of uMhlathuze mayor, Cllr Xolani Ngwezi has welcomed delegates attending the King Cetshwayo District Investment roadshow.Cllr Ngwezi used the occasion to remind investors that the city of uMhlathuze is open for business. Adding that a lot of infrastructural maintenance has been done in order to ensure that the city is able to fully realise its potential when it comes to future investments. The investment roadshow is being held in Richards bay.

The City of uMhlathuze has received all its service delivery vehicles which were purchased nearly two months ago.

Today, two brand-new refuse trucks were delivered. These trucks will assist the City to collect refuse in a timely and efficient manner.

This is part of the City’s ongoing commitment to improve service delivery and ensure that our communities live in a clean and healthy environment.
