Today, the ANC Rustenburg Local Elections Team led by LET Manager Cde. Calvin Hlotse, and Head of ID Campaign Cde. Lebogang P**e, conducted a successful Voter Registration Drive at Orbit TVET College in partnership with SASCO - engaging directly with students, the team encouraged young people to register, and verify their voter details ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.

The ANC Rustenburg LET welcomed the positive response from students and expressed appreciation to SASCO members for their support in mobilising and educating young people on the importance of electoral participation.

Every registration is a step towards deepening democracy and building a better future for all.

The African National Congress Rustenburg Local Elections Team rolled out a voter registration drive in Ward 45 on Saturday 06 June 2026. ANC PEC Member Cde Sussana Dantjie, ANC Provincial Deputy Cloud Coordinator Cde Thokozile Mateyisi, ANC Regional Chairperson Cde Sheila Mabale Huma, LET Manager Cde Calvin Hlotse, and SANCO Regional Chairperson Cde Brian Phiri were part of the programme and led mobilization efforts alongside the LET.

The team was at La Flor Chesa Nyama, Thekwane, Ward 45 from 09:00. Volunteers assisted eligible residents to register, check their voter details, and update addresses to ensure no one was left behind.

The programme formed part of the ANC’s 2026 theme: β€œThe Year of Decisive Action to fix Local Government and Transform the Economy”. Door-to-door teams engaged households to listen to service delivery concerns and encourage voter participation ahead of the local government elections.

Speaking after the programme, the leadership emphasized that this registration drive ensured residents of Ward 45 were ready to participate and hold their councillors accountable.

The ANC and SANCO thanked all residents of Ward 45 who came out in numbers and took ownership of their future.

Cde. Bejani Chauke, ANC NEC Member, and Cde. Louis Diremelo, ANC North West Provincial Secretary, PEMT Manager Cde Koketso Mogomotsi, Provincial Deputy Cloud Coordinator Cde Thokozile Mateyisi, LET Manager Calvin Hlotse, led a programme of activities in Marikana on Saturday 06 June 2026 as part of the ANC’s voter mobilization drive.

The programme included:
- 11:00 – Postering at Marikana Complex
- 13:00 – Voter Registration & Door-to-Door in Marikana West
- 15:00 – Sectoral Engagement in Marikana

Door-to-door teams engaged directly with households to listen to service delivery concerns, encourage voter registration, and reaffirm the ANC’s commitment to fixing local government and transforming the economy.

Speaking after the activities, the ANC Provincial Secretary Cde. Louis Diremelo emphasized that β€œ2026 is the Year of Decisive Action to fix Local Government and Transform the Economy. These programmes ensured residents of Marikana were ready to participate and hold their councillors accountable.”

The ANC Rustenburg LET thanked all residents of Marikana who came out and registered to vote.

The ANC Rustenburg Local Elections Team continued its voter contact programme in Ward 21 through a twofold engagement aimed at strengthening its connection with the community.

The programme began with a visit to Faith Temple Church, where the team engaged with congregants and reaffirmed the ANC's commitment to working alongside faith-based institutions, followed by a community engagement led by ANC PEC Member Cde. Mpho Khunou, who encouraged residents to remain active participants in shaping the future of their community. The programme created an important platform for engagement, allowing community members to share their views and aspirations.

Supporting the programme were SANCO NEC Member Cde. Nwabisa Thwesha and SANCO Regional Chairperson Cde. Brian Phiri, whose presence reflected a shared commitment to community-centred engagement and strengthened relations between the ANC and Alliance partners.

Through these engagements, the ANC continues to strengthen its relationship with communities and advance a people-centred approach to leadership and development.

The African National Congress (ANC) Rustenburg Local Elections Team continued its voter registration campaign in Phatsima, Ward 01, engaging directly with community members and encouraging eligible residents to register and participate in the democratic process.

The campaign was strengthened by the presence of leaders from the ANC and Alliance structures, including ANC PEC Member Cde. Sussana Dantjie, SANCO NEC Member Cde. Nwabisa Thwesha, SANCO Regional Chairperson Cde. Brian Phiri, COSATU Representative Cde. Eunice Nkashe, the RET Coordinator Cde. Matthew Wolmarans, and the LET Manager Cde. Calvin Hlotse. Their participation, alongside dedicated ANC members, Alliance activists, and local supporters, demonstrated a shared commitment to strengthening democracy and ensuring that every eligible voter has an opportunity to make their voice heard.

The team engaged residents on the importance of voter registration. Community members were encouraged to ensure that their registration details are up to date and to take part in the upcoming Local Government Elections on 04 November 2026.

Following the voter registration drive, the delegation proceeded to the Zion Christian Church, where they joined congregants and community members in a spirit of fellowship and unity. The visit underscored the importance of working together with faith-based organisations and community structures in building stronger, more cohesive communities.
