The ANC Rustenburg Local Elections Team continued its voter contact programme in Ward 21 through a twofold engagement aimed at strengthening its connection with the community.

The programme began with a visit to Faith Temple Church, where the team engaged with congregants and reaffirmed the ANC's commitment to working alongside faith-based institutions, followed by a community engagement led by ANC PEC Member Cde. Mpho Khunou, who encouraged residents to remain active participants in shaping the future of their community. The programme created an important platform for engagement, allowing community members to share their views and aspirations.

Supporting the programme were SANCO NEC Member Cde. Nwabisa Thwesha and SANCO Regional Chairperson Cde. Brian Phiri, whose presence reflected a shared commitment to community-centred engagement and strengthened relations between the ANC and Alliance partners.

Through these engagements, the ANC continues to strengthen its relationship with communities and advance a people-centred approach to leadership and development.

The African National Congress (ANC) Rustenburg Local Elections Team continued its voter registration campaign in Phatsima, Ward 01, engaging directly with community members and encouraging eligible residents to register and participate in the democratic process.

The campaign was strengthened by the presence of leaders from the ANC and Alliance structures, including ANC PEC Member Cde. Sussana Dantjie, SANCO NEC Member Cde. Nwabisa Thwesha, SANCO Regional Chairperson Cde. Brian Phiri, COSATU Representative Cde. Eunice Nkashe, the RET Coordinator Cde. Matthew Wolmarans, and the LET Manager Cde. Calvin Hlotse. Their participation, alongside dedicated ANC members, Alliance activists, and local supporters, demonstrated a shared commitment to strengthening democracy and ensuring that every eligible voter has an opportunity to make their voice heard.

The team engaged residents on the importance of voter registration. Community members were encouraged to ensure that their registration details are up to date and to take part in the upcoming Local Government Elections on 04 November 2026.

Following the voter registration drive, the delegation proceeded to the Zion Christian Church, where they joined congregants and community members in a spirit of fellowship and unity. The visit underscored the importance of working together with faith-based organisations and community structures in building stronger, more cohesive communities.

The ANC remains steadfast in its efforts to reach every community, encourage voter participation, and work alongside residents in building a better future for all.

PEC Deployee, Cde. Mpho Khunou, joined the campaign and interacted with community members, reinforcing the ANC's commitment to grassroots engagement and democratic participation.

The ANC Rustenburg Local Elections Team received a warm and spirited welcome during the ongoing “Neyile Walk Program” mobilisation campaign in Ward 24.

“The energy and support shown by the people of Ward 24 give us confidence that our communities remain committed to working together for progress and development. This programme is about listening to our people and strengthening our presence on the ground”, remarked the LET Coordinator Cde. Tokyo Mataboge in his welcome address.

Songs of unity, cheering, and vibrant sloganeering echoed throughout the ward as volunteers and community members moved from street to street engaging residents and strengthening the movement’s presence on the ground. The strong turnout demonstrates the growing commitment of residents to work together with the movement in addressing community challenges and building a better future for all.

The Local Elections Team thanks all volunteers and supporters who participated and remains dedicated to strengthening community engagement across Ward 24.

The African National Congress Rustenburg Local Elections Team (LET) successfully hosted a productive and engaging training session for Trainers and Branch Election Facilitation Team (BEFT) members, aimed at strengthening organisational readiness and sharpening the movement’s electoral machinery ahead of upcoming responsibilities.

The training was facilitated by Cde. Fanie Marumola from the Provincial Elections Training Team in collaboration with Cde. Thapelo Mosothwane from the Provincial Elections Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Team. The Deputy Provincial Cloud Coordinator, Cde. Thokozile Mateyisi was also in attendance. The Regional Elections Team Coordinator, Cde. Matthews Wolmarans, attended the training in support of the initiative, while the LET delegation was led by the LET Manager, Cde. Calvin Hlotse. The session created an engaging platform for learning, reflection, and constructive dialogue among participants.

Delivering his remarks during the session, Cde. Fanie Marumola emphasised the importance of political education and preparedness within the movement. “The strength of any election campaign lies in the preparedness and discipline of its cadres. Our responsibility as trainers is not only to transfer knowledge, but to build confidence and unity among our structures so that we are able to engage communities effectively and with one voice,” said Cde. Fanie.

Speaking to the significance of research, monitoring and evaluation in ensuring organisational programs remain responsive to community needs, “Monitoring and evaluation allow us to measure the effectiveness of our work and identify areas where we can improve. The movement must always be guided by facts and a commitment to continuous improvement”, said Cde. Thapelo.

The training session was marked by meaningful engagement with participants highlighting the importance of collective leadership and rallying behind a common objective.

The Rustenburg LET extends its appreciation to all facilitators and participants for contributing to a successful and impactful session that reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to organisational renewal and unity.
