ANC BOJANALA REGION STRENGTHENS BRANCH FUNCTIONALITY THROUGH SECRETARIES’ FORUM

The African National Congress (ANC) in the Bojanala Region continues to intensify its organisational renewal and grassroots strengthening programme, as the Acting Regional Secretary, Cde Thapelo Thoboke, today, 10 April 2026, embarks on a Sub-Regional Secretaries’ Forum in Moretele, where 24 branch secretaries out of 26 were in attendance.

This important engagement forms part of the ongoing effort by the ANC Bojanala Regional Secretary’s Office to support, guide, and strengthen the functionality of branch secretaries, who remain the backbone of the movement’s organisational machinery. The forum provides a platform for robust engagement, capacity building, and alignment on key organisational priorities.

The Acting Regional Secretary Cde Thoboke’s visit was mainly to assess branches’ readiness for ward councillor candidates selection progresess for upcoming LGE as well as preparations to realign branches into newly demarcated wards.

The ANC in Bojanala Region reiterates its unwavering commitment to putting the people first. Through strengthened organisational capacity and responsive governance, the movement continues to strive towards improving the quality of life for all residents in the region.

INTRODUCTION OF THE APPOINTED INTERIM BOJANALA RET COORDINATOR – CDE MATTHEWS WOLMARANS

Today, 09 March 2026, the newly appointed interim Bojanala RET Coordinator, Cde Matthews Wolmarans, was formally introduced to REMT structure. The session was led by the former RET Coordinator, Cde Thapelo Thoboke, who also serves as the Acting Regional Secretary.

Heads of the REMT task teams from various subregions welcomed the newly appointed Bojanala RET Coordinator and pledged their support as he continues the work that has been undertaken to unite structures, strengthen election readiness, support Bojanala subregions, and capacitate LET structures to decisively prepare for the 2026 Local Government Elections.

During the meeting, Cde Thapelo Thoboke officially handed over reports detailing the work completed across subregions. The reports outlined the progress made in building and supporting subregional structures, assessments conducted, and the continuous efforts aimed at strengthening organizational capacity on the ground.

Addressing the gathering, the Acting Regional Secretary Cde Thapelo Thoboke emphasized the importance of unity, dedication, and sustained hard work by all structures.
“We have been working tirelessly to intensify our structures so that we can put the people of Bojanala first and improve service to our communities. Let us remain dedicated structures of the ANC, active forces on the ground working ward by ward as we prepare for elections. Let us give the newly appointed RET Coordinator the same enthusiasm and support. As Acting Regional Secretary, I will continue to support the programmes of action as we intensify election work on the ground. Let us revive the good work previously done by the African National Congress movement, giving the people of South Africa hope and services,” said Cde Thapelo Thoboke.

Articulating his interim vision, the newly appointed Bojanala RET Coordinator, Cde Matthews Wolmarans, assured all structures—including LETs, LEMTs, IBC Coordinators, secretaries, and volunteers—of his commitment to continue building on the progress made.
“It is elections time. As Bojanala, let us showcase the love we have for the African National Congress through hard work. We must rectify all gaps, perform our duties diligently, and create conducive working relationships across all structures. Let us collaborate in implementing our programme of action to ensure a successful electoral outcome in the Bojanala Region. Every volunteer forms part of this movement, and together we will demonstrate the good work of the ANC to our people,” said Cde Wolmarans.

Various REMT task teams heads, LET Coordinators also took turns to welcome the newly appointed RET Coordinator and reaffirmed their commitment to continued hard work and collective support toward achieving ANC disciplined electoral success.

Successful ANC Bojanala Special Regional General Council Receives the Roadmap Towards 2026 Regional Conference

The African National Congress (ANC) in the Bojanala Region successfully convened a Special Regional General Council (RGC) at the Mogwase Sports Centre in the Moses Kotane Sub-Region on Sunday, 01 February 2026. The gathering formed part of the organisation’s ongoing preparations towards the much-anticipated 2026 ANC Bojanala Regional Conference, scheduled for the end of March 2026.

The Special RGC was convened communicate the REC-adopted roadmap towards the regional conference. This milestone meeting demonstrated the organisational readiness and unity of ANC branches across Bojanala to proceed with the election of regional leadership within constitutional and policy prescripts of the movement.

The Special RGC was attended by ANC NEC North West Deployee Cde Faith Muthambi, PEC Members Cde Sempe Elizabeth Mokua, Cde Saliva Molapisi, Cde George Manyike, and Cde Sipho Dial, as well as members of the Regional Executive Committee led by ANC Bojanala Regional Chairperson Cde Shiela Mabale-Huma, Deputy Regional Chairperson Cde Kagiso Moleko, Acting Regional Secretary Cde Thapelo Thoboke and Regional Treasurer, Cde Thabo Jacobs.

Branches were represented by chairpersons/convenors and secretaries/coordinators. In attendance were also the leagues and alliance partners.

Organisational and Political Engagement
Regional Chairperson, Cde Shiela Mabale-Huma outlined the current state of the movement in the region, emphasising unity, discipline and collective responsibility as key pillars in rebuilding and strengthening the ANC in Bojanala.

Acting Regional Secretary Cde Thapelo Thoboke presented the credentials report and clarified matters relating to membership status, compliance with conference guidelines and constitutional alignment.

Purpose of the Special RGC was presented by Regional Treasurer Cde Thabo Jacobs, who highlighted that the meeting focused on preparing branches for a regional conference despite the current term of office ending in August 2026. He emphasised that Bojanala branches remain united and aligned with higher structures of the ANC, including the PEC and NEC.

A detailed roadmap towards the Regional Conference was presented by the Acting Regional Secretary, outlining key organisational processes and timelines. The roadmap was welcomed by branches signalling collective readiness to move forward.

Support by NEC and PEC members confirmed that necessary processes are in place to support Branch General Meetings (BGMs) and ensure alignment with NEC and PEC directives.
Addressing the RGC, NEC Deployee Cde Faith Muthambi reaffirmed the NEC’s full support for the North West Province and all its regions, including Bojanala. She encouraged alignment of regional programmes with the adopted NEC and PEC Programmes of Action and highlighted the ANC’s ongoing transformation, including the digitalisation of organisational processes and capacity-building initiatives.
She commended branches for their unity, ethical leadership and dedication to growing the ANC as a people’s movement rooted in service delivery and social transformation.

Conclusion
The Special RGC concluded on a high note, marked by unity, clarity of purpose and shared commitment to organisational renewal. The meeting reaffirmed Bojanala’s readiness to proceed towards the 2026 Regional Conference and to mobilise decisively for the upcoming Local Government Elections.

NEC MEMBER, CDE REFILWE MTSHWENI-TSIPANE VISIT MOSES KOTANE ANC CAUCUS.

Guided by the African National Congress (ANC) January 8 Statement 2026 and reinforced by resolutions of the National Executive Committee (NEC) Lekgotla, the movement has reaffirmed its commitment to the “Year of Renewal”—a decisive programme aimed at strengthening the ANC as an effective instrument of the people.

Central to this vision is the transformation of ANC subregions and branches into active, community-based centres of development, capable of rebuilding organisational capacity while responding meaningfully to the needs of communities.

This commitment was practically demonstrated on Monday, 26 January 2026, when ANC NEC Member and Convenor of NEC Deployees to the North West Province, Cde Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, led a visit to the Moses Kotane Subregion.

She was accompanied by PEC Member Cde Elizabeth Mokua, ANC Bojanala Regional Chairperson Cde Shiela Mabale-Huma, REC Deputy Chairperson Cde Kagiso Moleko, Acting Regional Secretary Cde Thapelo Thoboke, Regional Treasurer Cde Thabo Jacobs, and REC Deployee to Moses Kotane Subregion Cde Mosire Tsiane.

Addressing the caucus, Cde Mtshweni-Tsipane commended the successful hosting of the January 8 Statement celebrations in Moruleng. She further highlighted the outcomes of the recently convened NEC Lekgotla, emphasizing that the ANC is actively implementing its resolution that 2026 is the Year of Fixing Local Government. The ANC movement intensify its focus on local government, ensuring that community priorities are addressed without delay. The ANC is more than committed about deepening service delivery, strengthening service delivery forums, and ensuring ANC structures remain visible, active, and responsive on the ground. “Our communities must feel the presence of the ANC through action. Let us heighten service delivery, remain active in ANC programmes and structures, and be visible where our people live,” she emphasized.

Cde Refilwe also gave directive to the withdrawal of an anticipated motion of no cofidence against the Mayor of Moses Kotane by 2 ANC coucillors, highlighting internal processes of resolving differences within the movement.

The visit further reaffirmed the ANC’s resolve to rebuild and sustain branches, strengthen unity, and restore public confidence through decisive action and people-centred governance.

The African National Congress (ANC) in the Bojanala Region continued with its programme of reviving Sub-Regional Secretaries’ Forum, convening in the Moretele Sub-Region on Sunday, 25 January 2026.

Moretele branches warmly welcomed the delegation with revolutionary songs and vibrant displays of unity, demonstrating the enduring love and commitment to the ANC. The programme forms part of the Regional Leadership’s ongoing efforts to strengthen organisational capacity, promote unity, and deepen service to communities at grassroots level.

The programme was led by the Acting Bojanala Regional Secretary, Cde Thapelo Thoboke, accompanied PEC Member Cde George Manyike, Regional Deputy Chairperson Cde Kagiso Moleko, REC Deployee to Moretele, Cde Gilbert Bogopane and REC Members Cde Violet Maluleke, Cde Mosire Tsiane, Cde Freda Mapela, Cde Jerry Mabasa, as well as SANCO NEC Member Cde David Manamela.

Renewal, Rebuilding and Readiness for Local Government Elections
Addressing branch Secretaries and BTT Coordinators, Acting Regional Secretary Cde Thapelo Thoboke commended Moretele for its continued hard work, discipline, and organisational strength. He encouraged comrades to collectively project a positive image and brand of the African National Congress through ethical leadership and active participation.
Cde Thoboke emphasised alignment with the ANC’s renewal and rebuilding agenda, as outlined in the January 8th Statement, declaring 2026 as “The Year of Decisive Action to Fix Local Government and Transform the Economy.” He called on structures to identify organisational loopholes and address them collectively, assuring comrades of the Region’s full support through training, capacity building, and political guidance. “We are intentionally renewing our movement as we prepare for the upcoming local government elections. Let us normalise meetings, reporting, and strong working relations. As Bojanala, our slogan is ‘We Are Ready’—and indeed, we are warming up,” said Cde Thoboke.
He further emphasised that Secretaries and IBC Coordinators are the engines and face of the ANC at branch level, urging comrades to lead with humility, commitment, and love for the people.

Messages of rebuild, revival from Leadership:
REC Member Cde Violet Maluleke encouraged branches to remain ethical pillars of leadership and to collaborate by sharing resources and strengthening unity to decisively win the next local government elections.

Cde Freda Mapela highlighted the importance of aligning branch programmes with the Year of Decisive Action, urging the Moretele Sub-Region to plan, consolidate programmes of action, and ensure inclusive participation in all ANC activities.

Cde Mosire Tsiane applauded the unity, discipline, and love for the people demonstrated by Moretele, affirming that the sub-region is well prepared for the upcoming local government elections.

Cde Gilbert Bogopane praised the revival, unity, and renewed energy brought about by the office of the Acting Regional Secretary. He reiterated that ANC leadership must remain visible on the ground, identifying service delivery gaps and working collectively to bridge them.
“Let us not leave anyone behind. The ANC’s vision must remain the cornerstone of our work as we approach the elections,” he stated.

SANCO NEC Member Cde David Manamela commended the programme of action, unity of branches, and positive response from structures, affirming that victory is certain when comrades remain committed to the ANC.

PEC Member Cde George Manyike proudly acknowledged the deep love for the ANC in Moretele, citing strong attendance at the January 8 celebrations and successful community programmes such as the Back-to-School campaign.
“Your visibility and discipline demonstrate that the ANC remains a home for many. Let us integrate, centralise, and collaborate on all ANC programmes for our collective victory,” he said.

The African National Congress (ANC) in the Bojanala Region today continued with the revival of the Sub-Regional Secretaries’ Forum in Madibeng as part of its broader programme to strengthen organisational capacity, unity, and service to communities.
The programme was led by the Acting Bojanala Regional Secretary, Cde Thapelo Thoboke, accompanied by members of the Regional Executive Committee (REC), including the Madibeng Deployee Cde Thabo Molamu, Cde Thabo Belle, and Cde Juta Malepe.

This initiative forms part of the Bojanala ANC’s ongoing commitment to oversight, continuous support, assessment, and capacity building, while uniting various role players across the movement. The Secretaries’ Forum is a key organisational platform aimed at reinforcing the engines of the ANC at branch level.
Addressing the forum, Cde Thapelo Thoboke emphasised the importance of visible, hands-on leadership at grassroots level. “As a regional structure, we must be visible on the ground. We are a region that visits its people, listens to their concerns, and responds to their needs. Branch Coordinators and Secretaries are critical to rebuilding and renewing our branch leadership. REC member Cde Juta Malepe reaffirmed that the ANC remains alive and active in Madibeng and called on leaders to lead with purpose and humility. “The ANC is alive in Madibeng. Let us put our best foot forward and invest in our communities. A true revolution is guided by a revolution of love — leadership that is conscious of serving others. We subscribe to renewal. Let us portray leadership and be the best we can be,” encouraged Cde Malepe.

Madibeng Deployee Cde Thabo Molamu called for stability, discipline, and a return to the basics of organisational work.
“Let us stabilise our structures and ensure ongoing reporting. You are guaranteed support from the ANC region. Where there are service delivery gaps, let us remember that we are volunteers of the ANC. We must go back to basics, correct what is wrong, and rebuild our movement. We welcome all volunteers and canvassers — unity is our strength,” said Cde Molamu.

The revival of the Sub-regional Secretaries’ Forum was today on the 20th January 2026, held for Rustenburg subregion as a political programme aimed at strengthening ward-based organisation, improving service delivery activism, and preparing the ANC to decisively win the battle for upcoming 2026 LGE.

As the African National Congress (ANC) enters a critical phase of renewal and consolidation, the revival of the ANC Sub-regional Secretaries’ Forum emerges as an urgent and strategic priority for the Bojanala Region in assessing and monitoring the work of the organization at brach level.

In this context, Bojanala Acting Regional Secretary, Cde Thapelo Thoboke, has strongly encouraged the functionality of branch structures, emphasising that a functional branch is the foundation of a credible and visible ANC.

“Let us be the ANC that is visible to the people,” Acting RS said.

Cde Thoboke further called on branches to go back to basics, strengthen political education, and enhance the effectiveness of branch programmes. He reaffirmed that political education, oversight and support to branches are affirmed to the 5 bojanala subregions namely Moses kotane, Rustenburg, Madibeng, Moretele, Kgetleng as part of rebuilding a disciplined and people-centred ANC.

Reinforcing this message, member of the Regional Executive Commitee, Cde fredah Mapela reiterated the importance of unity, discipline, and ethical conduct among ANC members. She urged branches to revive the organisational culture of the movement by promoting good conduct, unity, and collective responsibility.
“Let us continue to revive the structures of the African National Congress and unite in achieving service delivery for our people,” she emphasised.

Adding a powerful dimension on gender transformation, Cde Selebaleng P**e underscored the region’s firm commitment to women empowerment. Using the Setswana expression “Mosadi o tshwara thipa bogaleng” , she highlighted the resilience, courage, and leadership role of ANC volunteers especially women have an active role in rebuilding ANC structures and serving communities.
“Let us be women who heighten services in our branches, care for one another, and, above all. Let us unite,” she urged.

As the ANC in Bojanala, guided by the January 8th vision, we recommit ourselves to unity, discipline, political education, and people-centred leadership. The task before us is clear: rebuild our branches, restore the trust of communities, and fix local government through decisive action reaffirmed Acting Regional Secretary Cde Thapelo Thoboke.

The African National Congress (ANC) structures in the North West Province, led by Provincial Chairperson Comrade Nono Maloyi, are hard at work ensuring full readiness for the historic January 8 Statement celebrations scheduled to take place on 10 January at Moruleng Stadium, within the Moses Kotane Subregion, in the North West Province.

ANC Bojanala RET Strengthens Election Readiness in Moses Kotane Sub-Region

Moses Kotane, 3 November 2025 — The African National Congress (ANC) Bojanala Regional Elections Team (RET) convened a strategic meeting with BET Coordinators from the Moses Kotane Sub-Region to strengthen election readiness and enhance functionality across structures ahead of the upcoming local government elections.
The engagement focused on revitalising active structures, ensuring timely responses to service delivery concerns, and addressing challenges affecting election operations in various branches.

RET Coordinator, Cde Thapelo Thoboke, outlined the purpose of the meeting, emphasizing the importance of preparedness as the movement gears up for elections. He called for strengthened collaboration among BET structures, current Councillors, and canvassers to present a united front capable of ensuring a decisive ANC victory in the Moses Kotane Sub-Region.

BET Coordinators presented detailed reports highlighting functionality and strategies to intensify voter contact and community engagement at grassroots level.
