The Rejuvenation Community Trust is a community based organisation that support development programmes and events within a variety of focus areas such as: Arts & Culture, Environment, Safety & Security, Education, Sports and Recreation and also Health & Welfare.
As part of the Arts & Culture focus, the Rejuvenation Trust, supported by a number of other companies such as Vaal Toyota, 4 x 4 Mega World, Mech-Tech Electrical, VCR Radio station, Quest, Riverside Sun, Mooi Vaal Media, Courier, Paradysland and “In His Footprints”, is hosting the first Vaal Art Expo on the 16th and 17th of November 2017 at the Quest Conference Centre in Vanderbijlpark.
The purpose of the expo is to give all our professional, but also new up & coming local fine artists in the Vaal, an opportunity to exhibit their art. The Vaal triangle doesn’t offer many opportunities for artists to exhibit their work and even though most artists are part of art schools, there are also many artists working from home that never gets a chance
The aim of the Expo is also to introduce fine art to the public and create a different culture where art enthusiasts would rather support our local artists as opposed to driving to Jo-burg and other areas.
The event will run over three days, with the grand opening on the 15th of November for all our invited guest, artists and sponsors and then open to our public on the 16th and 17th of November from 10:00 – 20:00.
All art on display will be for sale and a Card machine as well as a laptop will be available for EFT’s. 10% of all art will go back to the Rejuvenation Trust for charity and art’s development.
We want to encourage all art enthusiasts to support this expo in order to give our local artists a chance to showcase the talent and quality the Vaal has to offer
Artists wanting to register for the exhibition can do so at [email protected] or for any info please contact Hannelie on 074 706 2698.

Environment
The Rejuvenation Trust partnered with the Department of Environment Affairs in October 2016 to establish vegetable gardens for the CWP members in Metsimaholo to support existing gardens in the area. The aim was to give the groups all the garden tools they need to grow the gardens and to look after it properly.
The garden tools were delivered to fifteen gardens in Metsimaholo. Ten of these gardens are already feeding the community and about twenty people work in such a garden.

The next step now is to train the people and start with the planting. The Department of Environmental Affairs will assist with the training and Rejuvenation will then monitor the projects.

Supersport United Soccer School
Supersport United, one SA’s premier league soccer teams, presented a proposal to Sasol, Rejuvenation, Department of Education and
Flavius Mareka College to start a soccer school branch in Sasolburg. This is a great opportunity for Sasolburg to give talented football
players the training and exposure they need to become top football players in South Africa.

Sasol’s investment into the facilities and the building of two Astro 5 a side football fields was the inspiration to attract Supersport United
to our area. The venture will also support the sustainability of the facility as a whole. The proposal awaits final approval from the College,
but the Campus manager has agreed to the idea in principle.
