Under Member of Mayoral Committee Nick Muller the FDDM Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) Cleaning Campaign was launched in Moqhaka Local Municipality.

The EPWP programme is creating 33 job opportunities for local residents.

Focus areas include:
* Cleaning and maintaining government buildings.
* Cleaning and beautifying town entrances
* Clearing stormwater drains to improve drainage and reduce flooding risks

This is proof where the DA is in government it works for you. Programmes like these not only create meaningful employment opportunities but also contribute to cleaner, safer, and more dignified communities.

The DA mourns the passing of Dihlabeng councillor Hilton Maasdorp

The Democratic Alliance (DA) extends our sincere condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and community of our DA councillor in Dihlabeng, Hilton Maasdorp, following his untimely passing yesterday.

Hilton was a stellar man, a true gentleman and a dedicated public representative who served his community with commitment, dignity and compassion. His contribution to the DA and to the people of Dihlabeng will be remembered with great respect.

We have lost not only a colleague and fellow Democrat, but a friend and a man who made a meaningful difference in the lives of those around him.

Even when faced with personal hardships, Hilton remained a beacon of hope and positive inspiration to those around him. Hilton was the Dihlabeng DA Caucus Leader and served on the Free State Disciplinary Committee. He also previously served as Free State Association of Democratic Alliance Councillors Chairperson. Hilton was a dedicated family man, an active sports enthusiast, principled community leader and avid proponent of his Griqua heritage.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. May they find strength and comfort in the memories of a well-lived, purpose-driven life and a man who served others with humility and distinction.
