ANSWERS, ACCOUNTABILITY AND JUSTICE FOR SOUTH AFRICA

The questions raised in this statement cannot simply be ignored.

South Africans deserve to know whether there has been interference in law-enforcement investigations, who may have given instructions, who may have benefited, and whether anyone responsible will ultimately be held accountable.

These are not questions about political parties alone. They concern the integrity of our institutions, the rule of law and the public’s confidence in the justice system.

As the Madlanga Commission and Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee continue their work, we must allow the proper processes to establish the facts. At the same time, the public has every right to demand transparency, accountability and meaningful action where wrongdoing is established.

South Africa does not need endless delays. We need answers. We need accountability. We need institutions that serve the people.

The truth must come out, and justice must prevail.
