Govan Mbeki Municipality warmly invites all local residents, community leaders and stakeholders to attend the historic launch of the nationwide Lenacapavir rollout.

This groundbreaking public health initiative will be officially introduced by His Excellency, President Cyril Ramaphosa, as part of South Africa’s ongoing commitment to eliminating HIV as a public health threat.

President Ramaphosa will be joined at the event by an esteemed delegation, including national Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, Mpumalanga Premier Mr Mandla Ndlovu, various provincial Health MECs, and leaders from the South African National AIDS Council (SANAC).

Representatives from prominent international development agencies and funding bodies, including the Global Fund, will also be present to mark this significant collaborative achievement.

The event will take place this coming Friday, 5 June 2026, at the Lilian Ngoyi Stadium in Secunda, with proceedings scheduled to commence precisely at 09h00.

Let us unite as a community to support healthcare innovation and build a healthier, HIV-free future for the generations to come.

Do these phrases sound familiar?
🗳️“I’m not going to vote anyway.”
👀 “I’ll register later.”
🙅 “Politics isn’t my thing.”
⌛ “I’m still too young to worry about voting.”

Here’s the thing, once the proclamation date is made, no new voter registrations or updates can be made.

What is Proclamation date: this means election is formally announced through a government gazette and legal notice. Meaning the voters’ roll closes immediately for the 2026 LGE!

Why not register as a voter NOW to keep your options open!

Take advantage of the voter registration weekend on 20 – 21 June 2026 OR
