Earlier this evening, Med~Evac Ambulance Service responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles near Mpenjati.
Tragically, despite the efforts of emergency personnel, two people lost their lives at the scene. Our heartfelt condolences go out to their families, friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
A further 14 patients sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious. Working alongside all emergency services on scene, patients were assessed, treated and transported to the appropriate medical facilities for further care.
Incidents such as these serve as a sobering reminder of how quickly lives can change. We encourage all road users to remain vigilant, reduce speed when conditions require it, and make safety a priority every time they get behind the wheel.
We extend our appreciation to every emergency service, law enforcement officer and support agency involved for their professionalism, teamwork and dedication throughout the response.
