BIDDING FAREWELL TO CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER, MS DB KLAAS
Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality hosted a farewell function for the outgoing Chief Financial Officer, Ms DB Klaas, who served the municipality with dedication, integrity and distinction for four years. The farewell was held on 27 August 2026 at the Council Chambers in Siyabuswa.
Ms Klaas joined the Municipality in 2022 and has since been instrumental in steering the financial landscape of the institution, ensuring financial stability, transparency and accountability.
The event was attended by the Council Speaker, Cllr MR Nkoane, the Council Whip, Cllr JS Nkgodi, the MMC for Finance, Cllr MJ Makola, and the management team led by the Municipal Manager, Ms MM Mathebela, comprising Executive and Divisional Managers.
In their messages of support, speakers commended Ms Klaas for her hard work, exceptional work ethic, professionalism and unwavering commitment to service delivery and compliance with the MFMA.
In her response, Ms Klaas expressed her sincere gratitude to the political leadership and administration for entrusting her with the opportunity to serve the very community that raised her. She described the political leadership of Dr JS Moroka as the calmest and most supportive she has ever worked with, and said she will forever remain grateful.
The Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality wishes Ms DB Klaas well in her future endeavours and thanks her for her invaluable contribution to building a financially sustainable municipality.
