🌱 Another Successful Visitation Through Our Reunification Services 🌱

Today, we had the privilege of witnessing another meaningful visitation between a parent and their child as part of our ongoing reunification services.

Reunification is a journey that takes commitment, patience, growth and perseverance. Every successful visit is another step forward and a reminder that positive change is possible when families are supported and given the opportunity to work towards a better future together.

At ACVV Somerset West, we remain committed to supporting families throughout this journey, always keeping the best interests of the child at heart.

Today marked another successful reunification between a mother and her child, who has now been reunited with his mother and older brother. ❤️

Two years ago, the child was removed from his mother’s care due to circumstances that were not conducive to his wellbeing and was placed in foster care.

Since then, his mother has worked incredibly hard to improve her circumstances and create a safer, more stable environment for her children. Today, we were able to witness the beautiful result of that journey: a family being reunited.

At ACVV Somerset West, we want parents and families to know that change is possible. We understand that circumstances can become difficult, and our role is not simply to remove children from their families. Removal is always a last resort, after all appropriate intervention and support avenues have been explored.

Our goal is to work alongside parents, where possible, to help them address the challenges they face and create circumstances where their children can safely return home.

This reunification is a wonderful reminder that with commitment, support, perseverance and hard work, circumstances can change. A difficult chapter does not have to be the end of a family’s story.

We are incredibly proud of this mother and the journey she has taken to bring her family back together. 💚

Families can change. Circumstances can change. And reunification is possible.
