Residents living along the Kromme River are urged to evacuate immediately and move to higher ground.

A significant volume of water is rapidly flowing down the river following increased spillway releases from the Impofu Dam. River levels are expected to rise quickly and conditions may become extremely dangerous within a short period of time.

Do not delay or wait for conditions to worsen. Gather essential belongings, secure your property where possible, and evacuate to a safe location immediately.

Residents who do not have alternative accommodation can make their way to the St Francis Bay Community Hall, which has been opened as a temporary place of safety.

Emergency services are closely monitoring the situation. Your safety is our highest priority. - Kouga Municipality.
