Spatial science is about more than understanding where things are. It is about using that knowledge to address real-world challenges. At the CGA, research in GIS, Earth Observation, spatial analysis and modelling is translated into practical outputs, from customised datasets and maps to interactive applications, software and decision-support tools. By connecting scientific knowledge with the needs of people, organisations and industries, we help turn complex spatial information into solutions that can inform better decisions and contribute to more sustainable places.

SERVICE: Cartography for books and journals

Maps intended for journals and books often come with precise specifications regarding color, dimensions, format, and size, as set by the publisher. Journals typically impose restrictions on the number of figures allowed per article. By integrating maps with related data like graphs, we can produce cohesive figures. Allow us to assist you in presenting your data in an appealing manner.

This is an image taken by Landsat 9 on 15 July 2022 of Fort Worth, Dallas (Texas, USA). A false colour image, this shows vegetated land in red and urban areas (or rocky surfaces) in grey. Imagery like this allows geospatial professionals to monitor urban growth, manage natural resources, assess environmental change, and support informed planning decisions.

Maps are more than visual representations of geography; they are tools for communication. By transforming complex spatial data into clear, intuitive maps, cartography helps decision-makers, researchers, and communities see patterns, understand relationships, and make informed choices. At the CGA, we believe thoughtful map design is key to turning data into shared understanding.
