𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗬𝗟 𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝟭 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛 – 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗦𝗔 𝗗𝗥𝗢𝗣-𝗜𝗡 𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗘

The ANC Youth League Ward 1, joined by the 𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗬𝗟 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆, 𝗖𝗱𝗲 𝗬𝗮𝗺𝗸𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗠𝗸𝗵𝗼h𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗹𝗶, visited the 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀𝗮 𝗗𝗿𝗼𝗽-𝗜𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 as part of a community clean-up initiative aimed at creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment for children.

The Drop-In Centre serves as an important space in the community where children are able to play, receive meals and complete their homework. Recognising the important role the centre plays in supporting children and families, members of the ANCYL took part in cleaning and improving the environment.

The initiative forms part of the Youth League’s commitment to practical community service and ensuring that spaces dedicated to children remain safe, hygienic and conducive to their development.

The participation of the 𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗬𝗟 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 further demonstrated the importance of leadership that remains connected to communities and actively participates in programmes that improve the lives of young people.

The ANCYL remains committed to serving communities, protecting spaces for children and advancing meaningful programmes that contribute towards a better future for all.

The ANCYL Amathole Regional Deputy Chairperson and RET Convenor, Cde Nandiswa Mpolweni, joined an ANC branch leadership delegation during a community engagement visit to the Chief Msutu Royal House in Qeto, Ngqushwa Sub-Region.

The visit formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen relations between the African National Congress, traditional leadership and communities. It provided an important platform for the leadership to engage directly with traditional leaders and community members, listen to their concerns, understand their aspirations and discuss matters affecting the development and wellbeing of the people of Qeto and surrounding areas.

The ANCYL recognises the important role played by traditional leadership in promoting social cohesion, preserving communities and contributing towards local development. Strengthening cooperation between political leadership, traditional institutions and communities remains essential in ensuring that the needs of our people are properly understood and addressed.

The engagement further reaffirmed the importance of taking leadership closer to the people, listening to communities on the ground and ensuring that their voices remain central to programmes aimed at improving their lives.

The ANCYL Amathole Region remains committed to meaningful community engagement, youth development, service to the people and strengthening partnerships that contribute towards building better and more sustainable communities.

Together, through consultation, unity and collective action, we can continue advancing the interests and aspirations of our people.

“𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆.”

The 𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗬𝗟 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 visited the 𝗗𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 in the 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗶 𝗦𝘂𝗯-𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 to convey its heartfelt condolences and offer support following the passing of the mother of our 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗿 Sinazo Dyani.

The delegation was led by 𝗣𝗘𝗖 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗴𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗻𝗶, 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗵𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗱𝗮𝗸𝗮, 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘄𝗮 𝗠𝗽𝗼𝗹𝘄𝗲𝗻𝗶, 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗡𝘁𝘀𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗼 𝗦𝗼𝘁𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮, together with 𝗥𝗘𝗖 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀.

The ANCYL Provincial Deputy Chairperson, Comrade Nkcubeko Madlalisa together with Regional Chairperson Cde Buhle Somdaka and Nandiswa Mpolweni today led a School Shoes and Sanitary Towels Donation Programme at Nathaniel Pamla High School, Ward 06, Ngaushwa Sub-Region, Amathole Region, together with the ANCYL Amathole REC and members of the ANC.

The programme combined community support with voter mobilisation by engaging learners, parents and community members on the importance of participating in the democratic process. Comrades assisted eligible residents with online voter registration, verified voter registration details and encouraged young people to register and vote in the 2026 Local Government Elections.

Through this initiative, the ANC Youth League reaffirmed its commitment to serving communities while empowering young people to exercise their democratic right and play an active role in shaping the future of local government.

Tomorrow, the ANCYL Deputy President, Cde Francisco Dyantyi, will start with the ANCYL Final Voter Registration Weekend Programme in the Amathole Region, Eastern Cape.

The programme will commence with a High School Visit in Butterworth ahead of the Final Voter Registration Weekend, followed by voter registration activities across the Mnquma Sub-Region on 1 and 2 August 2026.
