It is not easy to see Phoenix in his enclosure here at Love Lions Alive Sanctuary.
Sometimes I can sit for hours and not see him.
Othertimes, like here, I see glimpses of him here, then there, then here. As if he drifts in and out of invisibility.

(Phoenix is a puma/cougar/mountain lion)

2025 Wrapped!

Whilst our thoughts are with the NE parts of South Africa where flood waters are causing havoc, and the Cape fires are ripping through the land.... it's hard to remember that 2026 has only just begun.

For those who follow our LLA big cats and sanctuary, here is a quick round-up of our year.

Seeing how much we value giving our rescued cats the best lifestyle possible, 2025 has been a success.

Love Lions Alive Sanctuary sends our love, thoughts and empathy to Panthera Africa Big Cat Sanctuary at this time.
We know very well how extremely well cared for those cats are, however there is no property in South Africa that is exempt from fire season. The devastating fires they've experienced the past few days were beyond their control.
We understand exactly how hard it is. The stress and decision making at a time like this is difficult to comprehend when you aren't on the ground hearing the fire, feeling the heat, not being able to see or breathe, desperately trying to save beings who are not just cared for, but deeply loved and adored.
