RE: Early Regional Congress

Revolutionary greetings

As per the resolution of the PEC meeting that was convened on the 5th of July 2019 we are mandated to convene an Early Regional Congress. The arrangements of the congress are as following:

Date : 9-11 August 2019
Venue : TBC

Branches that did not submit membership are expected to submit before Tuesday, the 6th of August at the regional office. Branches that did not submit membership will not get any delegation to the congress.

Delegation will be released on Wednesday, the 7th of August. Delegates are expected to go through the Schools Safety Policy, South African Schools Act, the Constitution and the Code of Conduct of COSAS as our commissions will be focusing mostly on them.

Branch Political and Organizational reports must be submitted before Monday.

We note with sadness that yesterday a physical fight occurred between and a teacher in Winnie Mandela Secondary School which resulted to a teacher being stabbed by that learner with a pencil. The South African society is too comfortable with this issue and if nothing is done now, our country is going to be a total chaotic state.

We are therefore making a call to the department of Education that both the learner and the teacher must be suspended with immediate effect until we get to the bottom of this matter.
