Be informed that Nandoni Water Treatment Works is out of operations due to power supply challenges.

ESKOM is currently busy with the replacement of the burned pole, and we are not sure of the duration it is going to take. Currently, it is not clear with the duration they are going to take to complete the repairs.

All areas benefiing from Nandoni Water Treatment Works will be affected by water shortage.

The Executive Mayor of Vhembe District Municipality, Cllr Chauke Miyelani, as head of the local government in the entire district led a delegation from Vhembe comprising both the political and administrative component from all 4 local municipalities at the 1st Limpopo Public Sector 4IR, ICT & Artificial Intelligence Summit.

This high level panel summit, taking place from today and tomorrow 3-4 September 2026, brings together public-sector leaders and stakeholders to explore how Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, ICT and Artificial Intelligence can accelerate innovation, improve service delivery and strengthen government’s digital transformation agenda.

Being one of its kind, the provincial event will receive an address from Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba and a whole lot more presentations from different sectors which will be ideal for the shaping of discussions that will bring about concrete resolutions central to digital technologies, innovation and how to take advantage of the emerging technology to improve the lives of the people.

The technical problem that disrupted water supply in Vleifontein has been successfully attended to and resolved.

The Municipal Technical and Maintenance Team, under the leadership of His Worship, Cllr Chauke Miyelani, has successfully fixed the fault. Water is now being pumped into the storage facilities to build sufficient capacity and enable a proper and stable water supply to residents of Vleifontein, under Makhado Local Municipality.

The challenge at hand was part of the many problems that continued to hinder water supply across the district which has by far been receiving special attention by the municipality in line with the maintanance plan as adopted by the Executive Mayor, thus positively impacting on bluedrop measure from 40% to over 60%..

Vhembe District Municipality's technical and maintanance team under his worship Cllr Chauke MG, has successfully attended to a technical challenge disrupting water supply from the Albasin Water Treatment Works

The technical fault had resulted in significant disruption to water supply across most areas dependent on the Albasin Plant. Our technical teams worked continuously to identify and rectify the problem and restore the system to normal operation of both phase 1 and phase 2.

This quick and service delivery informed intervention is forms part of the intervention stratagies by the Executive Mayor as adopted in the maintanance plan which is concentrated on attending to all water challenges in the district despite the workload.

MUSINA SEWAGE BLOCKAGE RESOLVED

Vhembe District Municipality wishes to inform residents and community members of Musina that the reported sewage blockage has been successfully cleared and the affected system is now operational.

Residents are urged to help prevent future blockages by not disposing of inappropriate items drains and sewer systems.

The municipality appeals to all community members to use the sewer system responsibly and to report any sewage related problems promptly to the relevant municipal authorities.
