Here's a few pictures from the last ten years giving a glimpse of the evolution of Tac Trac. The learning never stops and nor does crime. Created primarily as a training organization we have gradually moved to private security and boots on the ground law enforcement.

For those looking for an experience of a lifetime join our 6 week anti poaching course 26 Oct to 4th December 2026-learn what it takes to be a fieldranger on the frontline of conservation. Test yourself outside of your comfort zone guided by our instructors with years of experience and prove to yourself that you have what it takes to be a Ranger.

For those looking to experience conservation first hand join our volunteer program running from
14 Sep -27th Sep 2026 Our volunteer program is a softer approach for those who do not want to go through the grinder but still want to experience the bushlife and actively assist in conservation projects that are making a real difference one snare at a time.

Having just completed a weeks training and learned a lot about the correct ways to process a crime scene and document the evidence. It was good to watch the professionals at work after our latest arrest. Getting a good conviction is all about evidence and good forensic evidence makes a case so much stronger when it gets to court.

Stocktheft affects people's livelihoods and is a serious crime. Unfortunately most of the time it goes unpunished and takes a heavy toll on farmers.

Most criminals just don't know when to stop. Here's a little reminder that crime doesn't pay.
After causing untold damage for years and thinking that no one can catch him ,this guys luck finally ran out and he spent the weekend sitting in a holding cell with the thought of a possible 15 year prison sentence for stocktheft.
Not so clever now

Took this picture on an old farm in the Eastern Cape and thought its worth a share. Don't forget to put up your signs, most problems start with trespassing and there needs to be warning signs up if they are to be arrested for trespassing as a minimum

Snares are indiscriminately wiping out wildlife, as we track suspects and remove their snarelines we come accross a lot of rotten carcasses like this kudu that was simply left to waste. Setting snares is illegal and causes untold suffering. As conservationists we are always on the trail of illegal hunters and they are all the same , Setting as many snares as they can and just moving on when wildlife populations crash. Pure destruction no ethics, no off season just operating to the max and often going unchallenged

AI GENERATED IMAGES ALERT ~ These two images of a leopard reportedly roaming the streets of Pniel are going viral. They are not real, they’re AI generated pictures. Also currently in circulation is a video clip of a leopard on the slopes of Simonsberg. This clip is indeed real, and it is probably this video that prompted someone to generate images appearing to show this leopard walking through Pniel nearby. Please do not share the photos as they are sowing panic and misinformation about leopard behaviour that can be incredibly harmful to these elusive animals’ wellbeing.

After being informed of a missing person in our community who had been missing for a day and a half. With special needs and having already spent a night alone in the veld, we wasted no time in assisting. We were able to link up with SAPS and relook at the search area. We began following the last confirmed tracks at 9pm in the dark and continued tracking through the night , at 2 am we were still on the tracks when we heard a feint coughing sound, the father called out and got another response. Thanks to some good old proper mantracking ,father and son were reunited once again and just in the nick of time. Man tracking is often completely underrated but sometimes such a primitive skill out preforms technology.
