♿ KSDM MARKS ACCESS DISABILITY MONTH – WARD 26

The King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality (KSDM) marked Access Disability Month in Hlabatshane ,Ward 26 ,by handing over a wheelchair to a resident with a disability. The initiative aims to promote inclusion, dignity, mobility, independence, and equal access for people with disabilities. KSDM reaffirmed that access is a right, not a privilege, and remains committed to building an inclusive community where no one is left behind.

*Dear Northcrest Residents,*

This communique serves to inform Municipality customers in the Northern parts, that they will remain without electricity supply.

This is due to *vandalism* to Municipal electricity infrastructure (3 mini subs).

Power restoration may be delayed to Wednesday 02 September 2026 while police process and clearing the crime scene.

At this stage, an estimated time for the restoration of normal power supply is not yet known.

We deeply understand the hardship and disruption this outage causes to affected households, businesses, learners, and essential services. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and distress this has caused, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation while we work to resolve the matter as a matter of urgency.

The Community Services Department of King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality in partnership with the South African Waste Pickers Association (SAWPA), conducted a workshop and registration programme for independent waste reclaimers at Jerald Raymond Hawkes Stadium.

The programme aimed to formally engage and register independent waste reclaimers, strengthen communication and collaboration and provide information to support their participation in the waste management process.

The workshop also created a platform for meaningful engagement, allowing waste reclaimers to share their experiences, challenges and expectations while exploring opportunities to strengthen their contribution to recycling and responsible waste management.

Through meaningful stakeholder engagement and strategic partnerships, KSD Municipality continues to promote inclusive, sustainable and coordinated waste management practices that contribute to cleaner and healthier communities.
