Today, the ANC paid a heartfelt visit to the Veyi family following the tragic and brutal killing of our beloved comrade, Ayanda "Douwa" Veyi, in Paballelo, Upington over the weekend.

Our hearts are heavy with grief as we mourn the loss of a young soul whose life was cut short in such a painful and senseless manner. Douwa was more than a comrade, he was a son, a brother, a friend and a valued member of our community. His passing has left a deep wound in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Veyi family, relatives, friends and all those affected by this devastating loss. During this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with the family and call for justice to prevail. May his soul rest in eternal peace and may his memory continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.

The Provincial and Regional Chairpersons of the African National Congress Comrade Zamani Saul and Comrade David Kazi, led a successful morning blitz at the Rosedale 4 Way, in Ward 15 as the movement intensifies voter contact ahead of the by-election of 13th May 2026, in the Dawid Kruiper sub-region.

The programme attended by members, supporters and volunteers of the ANC once again demonstrated the strength, discipline and presence of the ANC on the ground.
